In December 2015, lloyd decided to open his first brick & mortar location after being in the food truck game since 2010. After becoming Buffalo’s first food truck, lloyd quickly grew to a fleet of 4 trucks in 5 years. After appearing on CNBC’s Restaurant Startup in February 2015, lloyd announced he’d open his first Taco Factory, combining the food truck atmosphere with a full service craft cocktail bar on Hertel Avenue. Expanding on a street style taco & burrito menu featuring organic black beans & antibiotic/hormone free meats, owners Pete & Chris added Quesadillas, side salads & specialty offerings to the menu. With a strong focus on food quality, lloyd continually expands the realm of what can be placed inside of a corn tortilla.

it’s my go-to dish every time! The flavors are bold and satisfying, and it always hits the spot. I highly recommend pairing it with extra chili sauce—it’s the perfect sauce (the mild is not spicy) that complement and takes the dish to the next level. Great food and great vibe!
The worst part is by far the last couple times we’ve been to the bar (and our last few visits were spaced out due to not wanting to go back right away due to service). Every time we go, the bartender working is 100% more interested in chatting and gossiping with friends at the bar than paying attention to the fact that our drinks have been sitting, empty, for 20 plus minutes… Last time we were there around 1:30pm on a Monday… So not a busy night or day.
It is every single time. Its terrible. Where are the own, the folks in charge? Do you ever visit this location or even care about quality or service? It’s such an utter disappointment…We used to take out of town guests to Lloyds, order delivery, go to Hertel, visit the food trucks… Now, it seems like they don’t care at all. Also… Clean the bathrooms, please. Like actually spend some time. It’s gross and dingy.
I ordered the Dirty South taco and a braised beefburrito with their house chimi sauce — absolutely incredible. The meat is super tender, the flavors are bold but balanced, and everything tastes fresh. They also have great vegetarian options (the “Skinny Thai”) is a must-try if you’re into that). on the truck Carrie is always friendly, upbeat, and fast — even when there’s a line. You can tell that she works hard but still keeps a good attitude. Carrie is quick, and the food is always hot and fresh, even when they’re slammed.
Bonus points for:
Consistent quality (been eating Lloyd for 6+ years, still amazing)
Creative menu items
Affordable prices for the portion sizes
That chimi sauce — honestly addictive
If you’re in Buffalo and see a Lloyd truck, stop what you’re doing and order. Seriously. You won’t regret it.
