lloyd Taco Factory

  4.4 – 2 reviews  $$ • Mexican restaurant

In December 2015, lloyd decided to open his first brick & mortar location after being in the food truck game since 2010. After becoming Buffalo’s first food truck, lloyd quickly grew to a fleet of 4 trucks in 5 years. After appearing on CNBC’s Restaurant Startup in February 2015, lloyd announced he’d open his first Taco Factory, combining the food truck atmosphere with a full service craft cocktail bar on Hertel Avenue. Expanding on a street style taco & burrito menu featuring organic black beans & antibiotic/hormone free meats, owners Pete & Chris added Quesadillas, side salads & specialty offerings to the menu. With a strong focus on food quality, lloyd continually expands the realm of what can be placed inside of a corn tortilla.

Man for a taco joint this place can sure make some phenomenal street corn! My husband and i had our first taste of it at the Taste of Buffalo festival and had to find a Lloyd’s Taco Factory the next day for more! We ate there for dinner and were pleased. Of course we each had an ear of Crazy corn and a taco and quesadilla to share. All of which were very tasty adding Lloyd’s to our favorites of places to stop when in the area.

Loved everything we had here. The burrito was really good and the fried chicken taco was great. I would definitely come back and try other items on the menu. Service was very friendly.

The food was so so. Having lived in a town with a large Mexican population in the past sets the expectation. These are definitely white/American washed tacos. Not only that but you have to stand in line to order on a pad. The wait was pretty long and the food was a bit over priced. It tasted good but not Mexican. It felt like an ordinary trip to Chipotle tbh. Next time I’ll probably cook at home.

Some of the worst nachos I have ever eaten. Very bland and the jalapenos tasted like they were bad. The blackbird cider I had was delicious, but after that, I asked for a diet Pepsi or Coke. The bartender said “We don’t do diet soda here. I have club soda or iced tea.” Very odd.

Dirty South taco was the hit for us – fried chicken with a bit of sweet syrup and flat waffle crisp-like pieces.

The tacos were really good but should note that they are bite size tacos. Great place if you’re not very hungry or I would recommend getting a side if you are. My favorite was the Big Lloyd (their variation of the Big Mac).

It was my first time, and I would go back to try something else. But today, I only had the plain chicken casadia, which had absolutely no flavor! and very greasy, too. Casadias are supposed to be more into a leaner side than soaked in oil.

Great spot to grab lunch. We each tried two tacos – they are a bit small but loaded with great stuff – along with a side of Mexicali Spring Rolls. Delicious!! This with some water and a tip came to under $25. Looked like a decent lineup of drinks if you came for a mixed drink, some mezcal or a bourbon. Try the Big Lloyd!!

Very crowded and very long wait. I went at 130pm and was there for about 45 minutes just waiting for my food to go. Very inspersonable setting as you order from a screen and cannot deviate what you are ordering. There is only one computer to order from and no cashier. After I ordered and waited about 25 minutes I regretted waiting. Staffing is an issue everywhere but over crowding the front meal station is not ideal. I must say it will be another 5 years before I regret my decision to go there again.

Great tacos and drink selection. Very welcoming staff and patrons. I felt at home as an out of towner.
