The lady was nice and helpful.

I ordered a moco loco, and it was kind of disappointing. It was $14 after taxes for the one egg on a hamburger patty on rice. This is something I make at home easily, but I wanted to try an authentic one, and this was pretty much the same. I’ve had better ones at other Hawaiian places.

Maybe I just ordered poorly, and their other stuff might be good, but paying $14 for such an average dish that should probably cost like $6-$8 feels like such a rip-off. I won’t be coming back.

Inside seating and lots of parking..

Love that their macaroni salad doesn’t have tuna! But this time is tasted over cooked with too much mayonnaise.

The loco moco patties tasted frozen & gravy wasn’t very good . . ($16)

The mixed BBQ plate comes with a lot of meat, a couple scoops of tice, & Mac salad. ($19)

They don’t have the original Red Rooster Siracha anymore .. bummer.

We decided on trying out this L&L after reading the reviews. I ordered the mixed BBQ plate, & we also got the seafood plate. My meat was bland, fatty & it tasted as if it was warmed up & not cooked fresh. I’m originally from Oahu, Hawaii, so I’m VERY, very familiar with “local” food & how it is supposed to taste, this isn’t it. (This isn’t “Hawaiian” food. It’s local/island grindz) that as a non local, you’d assume it’s Hawaiian. The cashier was very friendly! The portions were worth the price, but I was looking/expecting a flavor that just wasn’t there. Mahalo nui loa!

The fried seafood with tartar sauce is sooo good and tastes like it was just fried (not old refried). I like to get the combo since it has hefty portions; it’s enough to eat for 2 people. The wait is fine even when it’s packed, there’s plenty of seating, and the staff is nice.

Hawaiian bbq chicken plate is 10/10(halfway eaten in picture). I usually get my plate at Ono, the quality of chicken is better here if I’m comparing. I will be back.

use to come to this L&L very often over the past 9 years. The food quality was always good and larger portions where the plate wouldn’t even close. To say the least I visited recently, for what I usually order the BBQ mix, substituting the chicken for the katsu chicken now for 17$. The macaroni is soggy now and the portions decreased by a few pieces. Usually even two people could get full now it’s barely enough if you’re hungry. Another thing, they may have changed the breading because part of it retained a lot of oil or something and left it mushy in a few parts of the chicken pieces. Bit disappointed for what I use to expect and the price.

This place is more expensive than the location in Gardena. They give you less food here too. The older female Asian cashiers aren’t too friendly either. It seemed like they were arguing yesterday. I honestly prefer the Gardena location; food tastes better, price cheaper by almost $4 a plate, & you get more food. Avoid the dirty restroom at this Carson location. Dirtiest restroom I’ve ever seen. Smelled like mildew.

Avoid this location like the plague – drive 4.5 miles away to the Crenshaw location in Torrance. You get about 33-50% more at Crenshaw location, plus they don’t try and cheat by slicing the chicken to 1/8″ thick before breading it – they may as well serve Van De Kamps fish sticks because all you could taste was breading.

Also if you order steamed vegetables at Crenshaw you get 80-90% broccoli instead of green beans. I’ve never been satisfied at the Carson location which is why this was my 3rd visit (in 5 years, vs hundreds of visits to the 5-star Crenshaw location over the past 15 years) even though it’s the closest to me 1.5 miles and right next to Home Depot. They have gotten worse and now that they decided to start cheating by slicing the chicken about 66% thinner than they are supposed to I will NEVER be back and will be reporting them to corporate.
