First off, my girlfriend and I went for lunch…apparently you can’t get certain sides at certain times of the day. Mashed potatoes and green beens. What a crock that was! They made them for us anyway but why even put them on the menu?
The sides WERE good though…nothing you couldn’t whip up in 15 or 20 minutes at home though. Also, our waitress was slow and rude.
The most disheartening thing about the experience was the pathetic attempt at baby back ribs the sold us. They were greasy and nasty, they left the membrane on the back, if there was a dry rub on it I couldn’t taste it, and they were kind of burnt. I haven’t been back and definitely WILL NOT!
Sorry LJ’s but eating your ribs was more like punishment than a meal.
I’d have to say Wes’ Rib House is probably the best, Wes’ has a good smoke to it, the sauce is sweet and tangy, kind of runny really good…one complaint is that sometimes the ribs are a little burnt…don’t get me wrong…I’m a regular there, but it can be hit or miss. If you do go order the St. Louis Baby Ribs…The country style are much fattier I don’t recommend them.
Sticky Fingers is more “authentic” I suppose in there approach it seems but the results are pretty lack luster. I guess they’re second in my opinion.
We need some real BBQ in this town…that’s all I know. A little competition for these other joints might really make them step it up.

BBQ is a rarity here in pawtucket. nevertheless, LJ’s bbq is absolutely awesome. meats are always cooked perfectly, sauces are outstanding, and the service is great. i reccomend you hit this place up if you’re looking for an authentic taste of the south.
