This food is the best African food I ever had. We drive from Yorktown Virginia to this place to get this food. Don’t stop selling this food. We appreciate all that you do to make our experience at your restaurant the best. Also your goat meat is seasoned perfect although I don’t eat the skin, the meat itself is amazing… We will definitely be back. Thank you!!

Everything was pretty good overall. The egusi itself had a nice flavor from what I could taste, but both meals had so much oil that it overpowered everything else. The goat was surprisingly tender (a lot of African restaurants tend to overcook the meat, but not here), and the fish was also nice.

The main issue was the lack of spice or seasoning it didn’t really have that bold flavor I was expecting. I think it would help if customers could request the stew with less oil or even have the option to order the oil/stew on the side. I actually had to pour some of it out in street just to avoid making a mess in my semi truck.

My favorite Ghanaian spot!!!
The waakye is superb! The staff are all so sweet. I love eating fufu with my waakye.

I ordered goat stew with fufu
And 3 meat kabobs.

The stew and fufu was like $18,
But it was delicious and a reasonable portion.

The spicy meat kabobs were also delicious,
But less value for the $12.
You’d get twice as much for less money from the Chinese restaurant door.

That said, this place is a welcome change in pace. Hopefully I can make more money, because 30-40$ per person is a bit steep for me to be a regular, but the flavors are good.

Another great experienice with this restaurant as I have now been here several times to get my West African fix. The Fufu With Goat Egusi Stew takes me back to my teenage years with authentic flavors. The Turkey Wings are seasoned to perfection, hugged by fresh onions and peppers, and the pepper sauce cup is an amazing compliment. I place my orders for pick and travel from Chesterfield for this food, the quality and customer service is well worth it!

Making you pay before getting the food is the first red flag. I even tipped expecting great food but jokes on me. The food was horrible. I ordered jollof rice with goat meat but I got rice with two pieces of bones on it. My friend ordered Egusi stew and it was runny, she couldn’t even eat it. I was so excited to try this place but the food was trash. They don’t offer you water or any drinks. Would not recommend at all.

Lizzy’s was an unexpected treasure nestled in an unassuming neighborhood. I stumbled upon this delightful eatery while making deliveries, and after seeing the photos of food out front, I knew I had to come back. As soon as my shift ended, I made my way back. I ordered the Egusi with goat meat and Banku. Settling into my car, I intended just to sample a bite before heading home, but the moment I tasted the dish, I was taken in by such rich flavors. The goat meat was impeccably tender, its seasoning bursting with warmth and authenticity. With each mouthful, I savored the perfectly paired spices and textures, losing myself in the experience until I glanced down and realized my plate was empty. I enjoyed every single bite. What a wonderful meal… I look forward to my next visit to Lizzy’s African restaurant.

I had an amazing 5/5 experience! The atmosphere was clean, inviting, and cozy, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive. I tried the fufu, goat stew, plantains, and lemon cake, and everything was delicious. I’ve definitely found my new go-to place for a quick after-work dinner. Thank you for such fantastic food!
