I wanted to share some feedback regarding a couple of recent visits. I’m a regular guest and typically have a great time when I come in with friends. It’s usually a fun, welcoming place to unwind after work, and we genuinely enjoy being there.
However, this past Sunday I had an interaction with a female bartender who came across as unfriendly and somewhat hostile. On a separate occasion, I experienced a similar attitude from another female bartender.
Because I visit often and value the atmosphere there, it was disappointing to feel unwelcome during those instances. I’m always respectful, just there to relax and have a good time, and I tip well when service is done properly.

Finally checking out my new neighborhood bar …not bad , have a old school dive / unique hidden Houston feel. Felt nice to a neighborhood bar busy on Thursday plus I got id lol That was nostalgic… AKA I am unc level so Imma take it has a compliment

i went on a sunday night and i was very disappointed, there is one older lady that bartends and she was very unpleasant. I go to lizzard’s all the time and always have the best time but this experience was horrible! if you want to go just don’t go on sunday. The worst attitude i think ive ever experienced, i didn’t have my ID which is on me but i expect to be treated with respect even if im at fault, but that was a different story as i was told “you can’t be here then” MIND YOU i never get asked for my ID when i go because they ID AT THE DOOR and was quickly dismissed, which i didn’t appreciate and all the attitude because i didn’t have an ID??? i wasn’t pleased especially because i always have such a good time there :/

We used to frequent this bar back in the 90’s. Our Mom and her best friend would join us on occasion for happy hour. They loved to meet us and meet the people we hung out with back in the day. Mom always told my Brother and me, don’t waste your money on a funeral for me, just throw me in the back of Brother’s Suburban, stop and Lizzard’s and buy a round of drinks for the house on me. And, so we did!!
It was absolutely the most incredible Celebration of Life I could have hoped to have had for an incredibly beautiful soul. The staff, Jean and Shannon, were absolutely amazing! Never did any of the celebrants wait for a drink. They invented the “GOAT” shot for us all to toast my Mom. Words cannot express our gratitude to Jean and Shannon for helping us to fulfill our Mom’s wishes with such flair.
I highly recommend this hole in the wall bar. It’s as friendly and inviting today as it was when we used to frequent it back in the day. Thank you, Jean!! What an amazing memory you helped to create for us, our Momma and all the friends and family who were able to come. ❤️

Lizzard’s Pub is a very nice neighborhood bar. Calm area and laid back atmosphere. Feeling at home there, and this is one of my favorite place for a beer.

Lizzard’s is one of those places you don’t find… you’re brought there. It’s gritty, loud, and absolutely legendary. The kind of dive where the bartenders know what you want before you do, and the energy is chaotic in the best way. You’ll brush shoulders with Houston service industry royalty and not even realize it until the fourth round. No frills, no pretense – just good energy, cold drinks, and stories you’ll be half-afraid to tell the next day.
Not for the faint of heart, which is exactly why it’s a classic.

On our regular Friday Happy Hour Date-night, I found we were right around the corner from Lizzards Pub…we went in & sat at the bar. Immediately you know this is a neighborhood bar – everyone knew everyone. Ashley was the bartender & is great! She was fun to talk with & she made a mean ‘dirty’ Martini! Oliver is a big old boy – possibly part retriever & part Pitty…a sweetie! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & have now put Lizzards on our list to revisit!
