Whoa! This tavern is different. The food is beyond exceptional, every last meal was crafted meticulously, I know because I tried each and every one of the four plates we ordered. Thank God my friends weren’t hungry! I got the half pound Angus beef wrap with thousand island dressing and hands down the best sweet potato fries on earth, I asked for a side of coleslaw and the waitress suggested I stuff it in my wrap I had the privilege of trying four different cocktails all of which proceeded to best the ladder who ever was tending the bar is a master! The live music was surprisingly good and the local crowd extremely friendly, Liz’s tavern is a hidden gem and I’d give a 6th ⭐ if I could

A different Tavern. A bit dark in the area we sat and not too busy at the time we went in. Their boneless chicken tenders coated in stinging honey-garlic were phenomenal so delicious and crispy. Their Shepard Pie was bland as it didn’t seem to have any seasoning in it and my boyfriend’s burger was overcooked a bit.

Great locals pub. Food was perfect for a casual night out. Wings, burgers, potato skins, nachos and wraps all tasty. Plenty of beers on tap and hustling servers taking care of everybody. Keno, scratch ticket machines, and large tvs to watch sports. The best part was a spacious back room with darts, pool tables and another large bar. Devlin’s didn’t skimp on entertainment. They had a talented band so put together you would expect to see them in large venue in Boston. Shocked to see such talent in a local spot. The band was incredible (Honeybees). Highly recommend this bar if you’re in the area.

We noticed this Liz’s Tavern in the strip mall adjacent to the town common and have been wanting to try it for a while now. We arrived at 6:45 PM on a Saturday night and waited maybe five minutes to be seated, unsure of their method. No one came over to seat us, so we sat ourselves as we saw others doing. After another ten minutes I went up to the bar and waited there to order a pizza. Paid for it and we waited in a booth for it. Fifteen minutes after that the bar keep came over and told us the kitchen was running behind. No problem. Another forty five minutes past when we decided to question the whereabouts of said pizza and were told it would be an additional wait. At this point I waited fifteen more minutes for my refund. I think they were just hoping that we would leave. No one from 7:00 PM to 8:20 PM ever came over to ask if we even wanted drinks while we waited. Not a good business model as the wife and I were thirsty.
Our overall observations of the establishment were that this place seems to be a locals only hang out for cheap beer, whiskey and eats. There was definitely a vibe of some getting the VIP treatment. We saw two other couples experience a similar fate, except they didn’t hang around as long as we did waiting for someone to come over. They left.
I can’t say how the food was, as we never even got a sniff. Not even a menu. I can say that the place itself, the interior, reminds me of some of the dive bars you would see in the Malden and Chelsea areas.
When you conjure up an image of a “tavern”, it is not Liz’s that comes to mind. Make sure that your shots are up to date if you dare enter the restrooms. Again, very much like a dive bar. I can’t envision a scenario where we would ever return.

Food was EXCELLENT!
The reason I gave service such a low score?
1. The server took her time to even address us. She was busy gossiping and DEFINITELY not addressing us
2. After we ordered our drinks and food. We got half our drinks. I asked for a water; and a Sprite with cherries for Lynxx. Lynxx got her Sprite. I got nothing. Fortunately we ordered at the same time, because she was too busy playing with her friends to bother with us. At this point I was going what the hell did I or my child do to this person!?!?!??
3. After we got our 1 drink of 2. The Sprite tasted completely unbelievably bad. Like flat with no syrup. Basically like kinda flavored carbonated water. I let her know nicely. I think the syrup is out on the Sprite.
4. Served food; Instead of asking if we wanted a new drink or a different drink. She just said. Oh. Ok. So Lynxx already asked for cherries with a soda. Lynxx asked for more cherries lemon or lime. The waitress literally almost had a meltdown. But she got Lynxx what she asked for. Then Lynxx went and got 10 sugar packs off the shelves. Mixed herself a cherry lime kinda carbonated soda.
5. I got livid at the server. Never came back to see if everything was ok. (WHAT THE HELL DID WE DO TO YOU!?) Is what came out my mouth! Then the manager was up in me. Telling me that I can’t behave that way.
6. He was correct from his P.O.V.. He was a good guy. Offered to comp my meal. But I said no. That french onion soup is awesome. Also I wasn’t making noise because I wanted free food. I just get really upset when ANYONE abuses Lynxx. I don’t do well when my child is asking “Why is she being like that? Did I do something wrong?” But

Service was great but for a weekend, it was a bit dead. They might have an identity crisis. Had a guy playing music, people playing pool, and a table of loud, obnoxious talkers that weren’t considerate of anyone around them. We still need to try the food here. It’s the end of the summer so maybe people just started home after all that back to school shopping.

It is a decent place to spend a few hours. It’s an older crowd, which is perfect because most places are in the early 20’s to late 20’s crowd. They had a band playing, which was pretty good, so there was a cover charge. I didn’t try their food, so I can’t really say, but the ambiance and crowd were good. It’s worth a visit…
