Came here with high hopes, very cute place with a beachy California vibe.
It was a Saturday afternoon and there might have been 3 tables occupied.
I was a bit saddened to see two Latino males come in and be completely ignored for a good five minutes. This might be speaking only of the fact that there was just one server out front.
This was an unpleasant situation to witness.
That said, our large group of 8 adults plus one toddler was accommodated.
We each got either a cocktail or non alcoholic drink.
I got the Ysidro spritz which had sake and grapefruit juice – very refreshing.
I got a seafood chowder in a sourdough bread bowl , I ended up sharing this dish because the other entrees were not to our liking.
The table had a burger and fries, a fish and chips plate plus completely inedible chargrilled guajillo mussels and scallop dish.
This dish had too much of a burnt rosemary and tasted very much like water rather than white wine.
We had asked the server to also check if the kitchen would prepare a smaller fish and chips dish for the toddler : she said she would check if the chef would do it but we did not hear about it again.
We were halfway through our meal and flagged down another server to ask about it. Apparently the order was not placed.
Our total bill came up to over $300 before tip.
Granted the waitress was also the person who mixed our drinks, shucked oysters, ran food tabs for leaving customers and took in other customers!
I don’t like leaving a restaurant with a less than stellar review after spending so much money.
So food overall was a maybe 6/10 with lots of improvement needed.
I would not make the extra effort to come back.
Service needed additional staff and better attentiveness.

We enjoyed our little splurge this Friday afternoon for our first time here. The staff was fantastic and very attentive. Of course 2nd street parking can be a challenge but 1pm got us right in front. Anyway, the food was good. I prefer fries with less of a char but I guess this is their norm. Plus, they’re still good. The fish on the Fish and Chips plate looks crispy but expect a soft crust with a very tender and very fresh flavor underneath. The restaurant boast fresh ingredients and they don’t disappoint. Although delicious, you can expect the Nashville Hot Fish to have the classic flavor without too much spice. Liv’s serves wine but unfortunately no cocktails. Stopping here for cocktails would be wonderful, however. The ambience is simple but eclectic and the staff makes the experience worth it. With our meal and two glasses of wine, our bill came up to about $118 which included a 20% tip. This was a great pre-birthday lunch. Would I come back? Definitely.

We visited the restaurant twice now… and really like what’s happening here. We’ve had a kicked up shrimp cocktail, and a beautiful pastor prawn dish with a lime crema , garnished beautifully with radishes & micro greens…. the texture of the prawns, quality and flavor is everything you need to know about what’s coming out of the kitchen.
Looking forward to exploring the menu further, and maybe trying the mid week happy hour .

I really enjoyed my first time here. I got the lobster roll, a bottle of sparkling, and the chowder. The lobster roll was amazing and was well portioned, service was great especially when I mentioned my fries were a bit too hard our waitresses was very apologetic. I didnt get them replaced which i didnt need but i will be back to try them again soon!

Happened to catch HH. Really good Korean beer with a fried oyster Ceasar salad (dressing was beautiful), a half dz oysters, and the Nashville Hot Fish with fries. The staff, food, service, decor were wonderful. The recommendations I was given were spot on. I hope they continue to do well and serve great food.

Liv’s is great! My wife and I go here often – consistently delicious food, great service, and a comfortable environment. Always a variety of tasty oysters from different places, and with their fresh-shredded horseradish and homemade cocktail sauce…dynamite! The salmon and scallop crudos are both on-point, and their lobster roll honestly rivals the best from Boston…do yourself a favor and try this place out!!

Super fresh delicious seafood – my kind of place! The service was kind and attentive and everything I tried was great. The menu is limited but everything sounded appealing and I have plenty I want to go back and try. My favorite was the steamed clams fish with bread – the broth was amazing. Even the fries were perfectly salted and fresh tasting. I’m excited to see what else this restaurant comes up with!

New oyster bar in Belmont Shore. We had the pleasure of eating here on the opening day and it was great. We tried all the oyster varieties and the oyster rockefeller(which was warm oysters). The fockefeller ended up being my favorite. Also for the first time I tried chowder fries, we were a little hesitant, but they ended up being a great warm appetizer to the chilled oysters. We were served by Julie and she was on top of her game. She gave us solid recommendations, really attentive, and answered all our menu questions accurately and explained it well (we had a lot of questions). I wouldn’t consider it “pricey” for the area, and the location/atmosphere was great. We sampled all the types of oysters, warm and cold, had a large appetizer and drinks for about $30 a person. I highly recommend the ginger beer.

Not a fan of the snobby server.
Oysters were great.
Don’t recommend for gluten-free diets. It seems the server did not care about restrictions, she didn’t talk about the menu or offer suggestions, and I was sick the next day.

Not my favorite vibe for places on 2nd St or Long Beach in general.
