Liva Mediterranean Grill is truly a hidden gem for some of the best Mediterranean food I have had in San Antonio. It is on Austin Hwy between Walzem Rd and Eisenhower Rd in a small older shopping center. It is very unassuming from outside but when you walk in that all changes. The large dining room is very nice with white linen table clothes and nice glassware on every table. The staff are all extremely nice, well dressed, and very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu. I was there for lunch and their lunchtime menu did not disappoint. Since they have only been open a few weeks the lunchtime menu is still on an eight by eleven sheet of paper with choices for your first course and your second course.
After we were seated our server brought out a basket of hot freshly made pita bread and a large saucer of delicious tzatziki sauce. We were also served a small glass of hot black tea on a saucer with a sugar cub and small spoon. It was very good and was refilled wheneverwe ran out. She answered all of our questions concerning the items on the lunchtime menu as well. I had the cheese rolls for my first course . They came with three on a plate looking a lot like eggrolls but inside they were full od hot melted cheese that was oh so good! There was also a cup of hummus that was equally as tasty. for my second course I chose the lamb and beef gyro. It came on a large plate that was practically overflowing with thinly sliced tasy meat and a delicious salad along with rice and a wonderful spicy hot sauce. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. desert was a squre of baklava that was excellent! It was not overly sweet and the layers of pastry melted in my mouth. Definately the best I’ve ever had. All of this was just $15.99! I will be returning soon to sample more of their menu! If you are just passing though San Antonio on Interstate 35 this is an easy off and on place to get to. if you are in San Antonio it is definatly worth the drive from anywhere in town.

couldn’t be happier with our experience today! We were greeted and sat by Murat with a complimentary baba ganoush, bread and hot teas for the table. All were fantastic! Then Mia welcomed us and took our order…apps we had hummus, spanakopita and falafel. I ordered the mixed grill for one, my wife ordered the Chicken Adana Kebab and my son got the grilled salmon. Everything was delicious with the spanakopita and the chicken and beef shish standing out…finished the meal with baklava. The baklava and the baba ganoush were very good. I don’t normally care for baba ganoush but will order it again here next time. Y’all go give these folks some love…they’ve only been open 10 days and can use the support to get this thing going !

My friend and I had seen pictures of Liva on facebook and decided to give it a try today, and we were very impressed!! We were served hot tea right away with bread, were consistently checked on throughout the meal and the food was delicious! It was refreshing, flavorful, and had generous proportions. We also got to try turkish coffee and baklava for the first time, we liked it so much we had to order some to go. For our main course we both got the Gyro plate. We will definitely be back!!

We loved this family-owned Mediterranean cuisine spot! They recently just opened, and we’re so glad we came across it. The food tastes homemade and was absolutely delicious, and the hospitality truly went above and beyond. My husband and I shared the Mixed Grill for two and the portions were so generous — we left full and satisfied. We love supporting local businesses and will definitely be coming back. Thank you chefs, Murat, and Lilly!

This is a really cute little place. We got the grill mix for two, and between the three of us, we couldn’t even finish it—we were so full. The servers were really kind and even offered us free tea, which was such a nice touch.

The owner (Murat) and his server was very hospitable, like your in a home being served by a wonderful family member and not in a restaurant. Food was delicious and ample in proportions – we ordered the Grill for 1, but it was huge to maybe feed 3. They served Turkish tea, warm bread with generous dip, baklava for dessert, and finished it off with their Turkish coffee – all given without asking and for free. Rare that we get this kind of service. They’ve just opened for 10 days, and hope they’ll continue to be like this. Family owned, he said his brothers are the chefs! We’ll definitely come back though we don’t live near.
