Down-to-earth joint dishing up American eats with a global touch in an original 1940s diner.

Food was excellent. I had the veggie salad, and all the veggies were super fresh—they hooked it up with a lot of broccoli, which was a pleasant surprise. Super cool interior, harkening back to a friendlier, more neighborly era. The chipotle tacos were excellent. My wife had the tortellini (which she could have sworn was handmade). I would dine here a couple times a week if I lived in Baraboo.

A nearby shop owner recommended Little Village Cafe to us for a lunch stop on a shopping day. We loved everything about the Little Village cafe, the food was delicious, much of it made from scratch and locally sourced, and very reasonably priced. The restaurant had a vintage eclectic vibe and style, but at the same time felt like grandma’s kitchen (and smelled like it too when we walked in, in the best way). Such a cute spot, highly recommend if you are in the area!

I have celiac disease, and eating out is a challenge. The Village Cafe was absolutely fabulous. They didn’t have a gluten free menu but had an allergen list they handed me which was great as we have several allergies and dietary needs in our family. They had great protocol- getting fresh ingredients from the back and fresh dishes to cook the food. I had the moroccan chicken and it tasted amazing! I will definitely be back.

It was my first time visiting the Little Village Cafe. I ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken burrito, my brother ordered the sirloin burrito with rice on the side, and my mom ordered the pesto mushroom pasta with grilled chicken on top. The portions were nice and big, and the prices were great! Probably the first restaurant I’ve been to with low prices in a while. I liked my chicken burrito but I tried my brothers and enjoyed the sirloin one better. My mom’s pasta was delicious, the pesto sauce was divine. Our server was very kind and he put our food in takeaway boxes for us. The diner atmosphere is very quaint, I like the old retro vibes a lot!
I love this place and we will be returning.

This place is so cute! I love the unexpected charm of the building when you walk in. The portions are a great size and well priced for what you get. Not to mention the quality! We got both lunch and dessert, it’s definitely on our “fancy night out for dinner” list of restaurants.

Great food, friendly staff, healthy options, exceptional homemade desserts!! My favorite dessert is the Key Lime Pie and I’m dead convinced they have the best in Wisconsin! Always a 10/10 when I dine at the Little Village Cafe!
I’ve written more reviews for this cafe on Yelp, which includes a list of some of my favorite menu items to order!

Best broccoli cheese soup I’ve ever had! Well coordinated service was quick and friendly. The sandwiches and burgers perfectly cooked. Something on the menu for every taste. Cozy retro diner vibe is a perfect compliment.

Located right at the corner on the town square across the courthouse there is a plaque on the wall outside about the history of the building. A super cute cafe – authentic counter stools, wooden booths that were as regal as church pews, a large bar and nice wine selection – it was the perfect place to grab lunch after a morning hike at Devils Lake state park. Nice vegetarian options in each menu category we tried the goat cheese and bread basket. It was a unique – and tasty – presentation i hadn’t seen elsewhere, soft warm goat cheese surrounded by roasted red pepper relish, olive oil and roasted soft garlic cloves. The black bean burger is a good patty and well prepared. the black bean burrito is substantial and tasty, very filling. A glass of white wine was crisp and fresh. Service was terrific and had a small town cafe vibe from the hospitality being seated, to food recommendations and follow-up. I look forward to returning my next time in Baraboo.

What a fantastic find on the corner of downtown Baraboo. This cafe is just as charming as the town it calls home. We stopped in on a recommendation and were treated to the most wonderful lunch by a kind staff.
You can literally see how happy the folks who run this place are and there’s a reason this cafe has the history it has.
Definitely a must stop if you’re passing through or in to visit at the nearby Devil Lakes State Park.

Amazing food and wonderful staff. This is one of my family’s favorite places. We drive to Baraboo from our town to eat here quite regularly, or sometimes just for the incredible homemade desserts. All the food is excellent, but they may have the best mac and cheese on the planet.
