We ordered the pho and the dumplings, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and well made. The broth was rich and deeply flavorful without being overly salty, which is something I really appreciate. It felt balanced, nourishing, and comforting in that way you want pho to be. The dumplings were just as satisfying and paired perfectly with the meal.
Overall, this is the kind of spot you come to when you want good food, a cozy atmosphere, and a meal that feels both comforting and intentional. Highly recommend stopping by
First, the overall cleanliness was not good and The menu was one of the dirtiest I have ever seen. Second, the way they store chopsticks and forks felt unhygienic. Third, I ordered the most basic P1 pho, and the portion was very small. It barely had any beef, and the broth was not the rich, flavorful pho broth you’d expect—it tasted more like lightly seasoned water. They also didn’t even bring out the two basic sauces that every pho restaurant usually has. I had to ask for the sauces, and only then did the server bring them to the table, in the middle of the meal. Additionally, they served one very small plate of bean sprouts and cilantro even though we ordered two phos.
Overall, this is not an authentic or high-quality pho restaurant. I cannot recommend it.
Cons: The heat inside the restaurant is kept so low that most customers eat with their coats on. The lights are too bright and harsh. The tables are very bare. The restaurant overall lacks ambiance. The place could be nicer with a candle center piece and place mats. They need softer overhead lights and better heating.
They serve the food on ice cold plates. I noticed that they keep the back kitchen door open in the winter. Some of the dishes are luke warm.
I will continue ordering food from there, but as a take out only.
The summer rolls were refreshing and thankfully only had a small amount of Thai basil, as I find it to be too strong for my taste. The peanut sauce tasted more citrusy than like peanuts, but it was so tasty. You get two rolls cut in half and it is very big, I could only finish one roll.
The whole reason I came was because I was craving pho, and it really hit the spot. The pho came preassembled and I wasn’t able to add my own lime, but the ratio of everything was perfect so I didn’t mind. The broth was a little cloudy but it was so delicious. The servings were big so I ended up taking about half of my bowl home. It didn’t taste as good reheated but that’s to be expected.
The service was very kind and attentive, and their Thai tea is very yummy. The don’t take tap so make sure you bring your physical card! They have a whole private parking lot, and you can entire through the front or the back deck.
The menu has great variety, whether you’re in the mood for pho, grilled dishes, or lighter fare, and the portions are generous without being sloppy. Service was friendly and relaxed, which fits the vibe perfectly.
If you’re looking for authentic, satisfying Vietnamese food in Nyack, Vietnam Grill is absolutely worth the stop.
The egg rolls were so crispy. The grilled combination was delicious. The house fried rice was amazing! And the clay pot shrimp was tasty. All in all, a great assortment of flavor in each bite.
