Love the decor. Took me back to when I lived overseas as a little girl. The restaurant was chill so I was able to enjoy everything and talk with my partner. I had soba noodles with chicken and veggies. The broth was flavorful, the chicken was tender and the veggies was refreshing. My partner fell in love with chicken Katsu. We were full but not overwhelmed. Will definitely visit again.

Last night, my husband, son, and I were looking for somewhere new (to us) to try. We were craving Japanese. We settled in Little Tokyo because it had ok Google reviews – and was really our only option as we have been everywhere else around the immediate here.
Walking in the door should have been our “sign” to go elsewhere. There was a table blocking the doorway that said DoorDash orders. A young guy appeared from behind a curtain, and I asked him if they were only doing to go orders. He seemed surprised but replied no, and moved the table out of the way a little bit for us to get by. He told us to have a seat anywhere. There were no lights nor heat on. About 15 min later he returned to the table and took our order. The lights and heat kicked on. All 3 canned drinks had expiration dates of mid Feb. Not horribly out of date. We ordered a sushi roll, filet mignon stir fry, pork katsudon, edamame, cucumber salad, and shrimp shumai. It took an hour and a half to get it all out.
Husband said sushi was ok. My son could have gotten better stir fry at Round the clock. Pretty sure it was pkg and they microwaved it. And my pork katsudon was straight up microwaved. They took rice. Poured eggs over it w pork cutlet previously cooked and zapped it in the microwave. We couldn’t eat either.
We also placed a to go order an hour into our meal of a tuna roll and salmon roll (6 pieces each). After an hour and a half, I had to go looking for the kid who was serving the table. He just kept disappearing. We were still the only ppl there. Finally he reappeared and we asked for our to go and the check. Someone came from the kitchen and said it would be 10 min on the to-go . So almost 2 hours later we were walking out of the worst meal ever. Getting home found there was only 1 roll not 2 – checked the receipt and gad been charged for both.
How does this place have 4.1 stars on Google is beyond me. Never again.

They are very accommodating and kind here. The food is great, and I would recommend to not get a lot of fried things in the same meal as they are kind of heavy on it. The fried rice tastes great but it’s oily so I don’t prefer to eat it with something deep fried.
Everything tastes great here and I’ve had a so much of their options.
Great tempura, great katso, udon noodles, sushi, harumaki, egg rolls…all of it is good.
You’ll pay just a little more than a corporate place but it’s worth the authenticity and also worth supporting local families.

Had a delicious lunch at little Tokyo yesterday the service was beyond a doubt some of the best I’ve ever had. Kevin the server was very nice and helpful. He even gave me a lesson about lychee lol didn’t really know what it was till then but I’m definitely gunna order it next time if they haven’t ran out of it. And without a doubt the firecracker roll was the best sushi roll on the menu besides the snowmountain roll. I can honestly say this was a gem and I will make sure to come back again.

My sister and I visited here on our way back to Michigan from Chicago. When we entered, it was charming and we we’re greeted by a woman named Serena. She was very efficient. She even gave us free miso soups for getting three rolls of sushi. It was so nice of her. Two by two our rolls came out to where my sister and I would both get a new roll at the same time. It was a nice change apart from what we’re used to, which is waiting to receive all of the sushi at once. I would STRONGLY recommend the Munster roll and the crazy roll. The place was clean, service was nice, efficient and the food was great! The whole experience was great, I plan to go back next time we are in Chicago. Thank you!!

This place was amazing, especially for smaller parties/couples or individuals looking for a good personal time out. This restaurant when you enter seems to be of its own world and has great entree options ranging from sushi to tempura, noodles and more. The desert selection was great, as I had mochi. They carry not only traditional American drinks but even these nifty cool bottled sodas that I def recommend either grape or lychee.

So I placed my order and got there at 3:01pm nobody said anything to me until 3:25pm. The only reason I waited because I already paid. The food wasn’t not good to me I tried to add seasoning to my snapper but it didn’t help. I’m post my picture but the seasoning is what I added to try and save it

When we walked in the door, the woman was rude and rushed us. An almost empty tub of chocolate ice cream was sitting on a chair near the door. As we ordered, she continued to be rude and in a hurry. When she served our food, the salad was wilting, and the soup and tempura were both flavorless, and the tofu in the soup was uncooked and mushy straight out of the packaging. Spring rolls were okay but nothing special. Later when the waitress checked on us, she approached us slurping the melted ice cream off of a spoon. It was an overall disgusting experience. We told her we didnt like the food, and she still charged us full price. Kind of expensive for the lack of quality/care. Waste of time and money.

Shame on this place! Worst sushi I ever had! 1st off I ordered a black dragon roll which is supposed to have avocado on top & from the pic there is no green to be seen. They send me a plain roll with a small shrimp inside & only eel on top, according to the menu that is not a black dragon roll. Also some of the rice was dry & old. This place is robbery, they charge $11.95 for that & it’s missing an ingredient. I feel bad for anyone who feels this place has good sushi, if that’s the case you’ve never had good fresh sushi.
