Went out to supper at the Little Tokyo Cafe in Knoxville tonight. We sat at the hibachi grill and our chef made chicken, vegetables, and rice.

We weren’t very hungry so we got a side of Ribeye steak, fried rice, and noodles. It was all very good. Servers were all smiles and nice. The meal you see with 2 drinks, with tip, was less than 40$. The dining area was small. I would eat here again.

Great food, but the portions are very small. You feel like you’ve been taken advantage of for nice you get your food. $25 was bill plus tip. Very little rice. Soup was nasty and no taste. Salad was ok. Atmosphere was good. Once again I would suggest more rice to make customers at least full. I was still hungry when I left.

Definitely didn’t take the time for the plates for the sushi. Like it was just thrown on there.
Also asked if we can sit at the sushi bar and we were told no because there was stuff on it and there was no room because of stuff being on the bar.

I have never felt so rushed at a hibachi place. Menus were literally thrown at us. He said you know what you want…I said we need to look at the menu first…he walked away counted to ten then right back at us what do you want. I just blurted out what I looked at. No chance to look the menu over. 2 seconds later brought the soup which was cold…then the salad….just lettuce with rancid ginger mush on it. The chef read down what we ordered. Never interacted with anyone at the table. Did the onion tower and that’s it. Never spoke a word ….just kept his head down and cooked like he was at waffle house. Slung rice everywhere serving us. Overcooked our steak. I got the wrong steak. The vegetables were huge chunks. 16 minutes from start to finish!. Right in the middle of eating the slammed the check down along with to go containers. After they rushed everyone off we sat there for a few minutes the entire restaurant was empty…they stared at us and continually asked if we were done and good to go?. By this point we sat there just to piss them off. We were followed out and the waiter stared at us out the window. This is the worst experience we’ve had in a long time. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. They are rude and unprofessional. They made us feel very unwelcome.

The search continues…for a great sushi place to become our fav! This is definitely not the one. Table service was about a 15 minute wait, so we started to have high hopes, but those dropped quickly. We ordered drinks and our apps. The busser was quick to get the drinks. He did tell our waiter about our app order. The gyoza was decent, semi soft with a crispy edge. The spring rolls, which came much later were burning hot inside, slightly burnt but cold outside and covered in sauces. Trying to hide something??? The little plates they gave us were all dirty. One of them has a good size piece of lettuce stuck to it, gross We ordered sushi so I cannot comment on the hibachi. Let the waiter know that I have a shellfish allergy and I clearly marked it next to my rolls that I was ordering per the waiters recommendations. I ordered a sushi roll and a fried sushi roll. My husband also ordered a sushi roll and fried sushi roll of different kinds. To our shock and surprise the 2 fried rolls were on the same plate. And our non-fried rolls were one the same plate. WHAT? I’m just lucky that my husband didn’t order something with shellfish in it, or should I say they are lucky. We’ve never seen that before and we’re just dumbfounded. We waited almost 10 minutes for our sons order to arrive. Which were not gonna eat while our son sits and watches. The containers they gave us for the soy sauce were also filthy and we could not use them. The sushi rolls were all covered with sauces and it made it hard to taste the actual roll. And when we were about half way through our rolls the waiter brought us “soup”, which he said he was going to bring us at the stadt of the meal. It was chicken stock with one slice of mushroom and some small pieces of I dont know what. The deco is older and in need of repair/ replacement. Overall, very unimpressed and not worth the $$$ spent on this meal. We won’t be going back.

I had an amazing experience at Little Tokyo Cafe! The hibachi chicken dinner was delicious and only $15 each, making it a great value. We also tried the crunchy shrimp sushi – $10, which was absolutely delightful. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine!

This is our favorite hibachi restaurant! Everything is so delicious. And you are given so much food they automatically hand out to go boxes! It makes a great lunch the next day too.

I called in an order and my son doesn’t like veggies and there was a mishap and the covered the bill and served us inside! The make you feel like your family not a guest! I will keep eating here at least 1-2x a week
