If you’re looking for authentic Thai flavors without the crowds of central Hong Kong, Little Thai By Bee on Lamma Island is an absolute little gem. Tucked along Yung Shue Wan Main Street, this cozy, family-run spot delivers genuine southern Thai cuisine that’s fresh, bold, and full of heart.
We visited on Valentine’s Day and arrived early in the evening—around half 5ish—and the place was pleasantly quiet with plenty of tables available (indoor and outdoor options). It’s the perfect relaxed vibe for starting your meal, though it does get noticeably busier later as more people arrive from the ferries or island strolls. The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly, making sure everything ran smoothly and checking in just the right amount.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of classic and regional Thai dishes, so there’s something for every taste. My wife had the Tom Yum soup—perfectly balanced with that signature sour-spicy kick, loaded with fresh herbs and prawns—and it was spot-on. For me, the Thai chicken (tender, flavorful, and not overly sweet) paired beautifully with fragrant sticky rice. Every bite was delicious and clearly made with care.
As a lovely Valentine’s Day touch, they surprised us with complimentary prosecco—a sweet, bubbly gesture that made the evening feel extra special.
Overall, Little Thai By Bee is well worth the short ferry ride to Lamma. Authentic, delicious, and charming—definitely a spot we’ll return to. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Thai food in a laid-back island setting!

Great Thai restaurant in Lamma Island. Pad Thai was delicious, not too greasy like some places and very flavourful. A little chilli powder would’ve made it even better, but it’s probably my fault for not asking. Restaurant has an alfresco dining area as well. Clean and well kept overall.

The best Thai food I’ve tasted, with reasonable prices compared to other Thai restaurants.
Pad See Ew noodles were soft, with vegetables adding great texture along with the tender chicken.
The Southern Thai Chicken was very tender, not dry, with a great marinade and side sauces.
The Laab Gai was a perfect end—tangy, sour, spicy, and delicious wrapped in fresh lettuce. Their special Thai sauce is a bomb , making us want to try more dishes just to pair them with the sauce.
The staff were very hospitable. They have a cool vibe.
I will come back for more when I revisit Lamma Island ❤️

Food was very mid. Pad see ew was not crispy enough and portions were too small. Mango sticky rice taste was good but portions were also too small. Higher than average price is expected though because you’re in a rural area.

By far the best Thai food I’ve had in Hong Kong. The server was super friendly and nice. the Panang was amazing. the mango sticky rice was the perfect size. the vibe was pretty chill. you aren’t getting the ocean side view but then again you aren’t getting the ocean side price gouge. only down side is they only take cash so be prepared for that. Not that cash only is a reason to complain about. I’ve been to many Thai restaurants in HKG, the food here is the most Authentic real Thai food there is. I would make the trip to Lamma island again just for the Panang.
