Had high expectations for this place, that was my fault, durring these times we all need to lower our expectations. Got a bad vibe as soon as I walked in. Prices seemed too high, bagels looked too small. After seeing the price of their lox and bagels ($8+) I decided to buy a 1/2 dozen to-go and make my own at home.

Decided to stop in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! The turkey sandwich was very good and I’m not a bagel connoisseur but the bagel I got was one of the better bagels I’ve had in a long time. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well.

If you want frustration with your bagel and a barely edible open faced monstrosity you didn’t order then take a chance! I won’t be back. The first time I sat very patiently for 20 minutes waiting. They literally told me they forgot to make my order. I gave them a second chance. My order was wrong when I arrived to pick up. I told the employee and she told me I was wrong. I’m a Jew from New York and in my opinion these are the only bagels in the valley that taste like real bagels. They’re really good! and the chocolate raspberry scone is to die for. The reason I’m giving only 3 stars is because of the customer service. They’ve messed up my order a few times, which is understandable, but they should just fix it or offer a refund. The worst was when I ordered a scone online and they gave me a different flavor, with a note in the bag saying they didn’t have the one I ordered (online it said they had it). I was already far from the shop when I discovered it. I didn’t want the one they gave me, and not only did they not tell me when I picked up my order that they didn’t have it, but they refused to refund me when I called and said I didn’t order the scone they gave me. That’s essentially stealing money from a customer and is a horrible business practice. Coincidentally, (or not?) the only other place I’ve ever experienced this was next-door at Sauce. I really don’t get it. Anyway, it looks like I’m not the only reviewer who has experienced something like this, and I would advise them to discontinue this practice because I’m betting it’s driven people away. Like I said, the bagels are good, so I continue to buy their day old bagels in a discount pack and the cream cheese from the case.

Love this place.. three stars because they say they want workers and I’ve called and called left multiple voicemails and I couldn’t even get a simple interview here. Desperate for work as I just moved to Ashland and it’s very upsetting to never even have received a call back after calling and leaving messages..just upsetting for a small place that says they need workers. Please don’t say people don’t want to work.. we do and you guys say you need it and never hire good people who work hard..
