I’ve traveled around the country and had lots of BBQ. The Little Rock Stock Cafe is among the best I’ve had. This place is amazing. Absolutely the best brisket I’ve had in the north and if you told me they flew it in from Texas I’d believe you. We tried to sample most of the menu on our visit and it was all fantastic. Stand outs: brisket (perfect), ribs, pulled pork, jalapeno cornbread, coleslaw and baked beans w/brisket.

If you miss southern BBQ, look no further. I guarantee you’ll find something to love.

Wow, this is exactly the kind of place you hoped to stumble across on a road trip! The food is all homemade and delicious! You can tell they prepared with very fine ingredients. We both got the pulled pork platters and to top it off. we did a mac & cheese side and then a peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream. Although everything is homemade, so why even say that the ice cream is homemade? But seriously I’m still dying over this food!! Plus, they offered us free chips and salsa that was also to for! Get there asap!! Plus, Barry was a really treat to meet as was another couple we got to chatting with on our visit. Can’t wait to be back.

This place is great. I deliver food as a side gig and when I got an order to deliver almost 40 miles away, I knew it must mean something was up here, so I came back with my husband. Walking in, you can smell it’s gonna be great barbecue.

The staff are wonderful, and ready to guide you to a great experience.

Recently I’ve had the pleasure of having some of the best barbecue in North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee and I can’t say I’ve been anywhere in IL that rivals those experiences…until now.

My husband lived in TX for a while and until I went to Austin, I sorta hated brisket – you could smoke it, sauce it, but it was just always kinda tough and gritty and gross. Austin was my first experience with what brisket should and could be and Rock Stock MATCHED it.

See, if you do brisket right, it’s meat candy. Buttery, incredibly juicy meat candy. And let’s just put out there: that tough a cut of meat being THAT juicy and that buttery is sorcery. This place has the magic.

I also really enjoyed the Polish sausage, esp. with the SoCal mustard bbq sauce, and the brisket beans. Ribs were also super wonderful. Pulled pork with the Plum sauce is sweet and spiced and if you paired it with some smoked jalapeno, even better.

I’d say I’m gonna go back and try even more things, but realistically, I’m probably gonna go back for brisket above all else, because…I’m telling you, not everyone can brisket like these folks brisket.

Oh, last standout -the coleslaw. I’m not a coleslaw girl, but the dill and actual pickle in this changed my mind.

Anyway, get out there.

Talk about a hidden gem! This is one of our favorite places in Wauconda. Food is all absolutely awesome, never had a bad meal and they are all so friendly. Love supporting businesses like this. Highly recommend trying, you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes.

I ordered the pick 2 meats, dark meat chicken and brisket, plus a side of smoked macandcheese. Sides for pick 2 were reg baked beans and reg corn bread. First time trying their food.
Brisket is delicious without sauce, tender and smokey. They provide a complementary flavored au jus, plus I added the house and North Carolina vinegar sauces. Sauces bursting with complex flavor, NC my fave.
Chicken has that authentic smoked flavor that cant be faked, fantastic! No need for sauce, juicy.
Beans are packed with bits of meat and vegies, at least 3 different kinds of beans. Strong garlic flavor though no mention of them featuring garlic. Thats fine for me since I love garlic, could be offputting if you do not.
Corn bread has tender kernals of corn baked in, delightful with butter.
Mac is very nice, perfectly cooked with buttery/cheesy balance.
The roasted pepper was a nice surprise.
I will absolutely order again.

Jackie and the team are fantastic! Everything here is house made! We had multiple sauces, meats, cornbread, chips and salsa, Mac n cheese and curry – all of which were enjoyed! I came here with multiple family members and clearly need to get back to sample dessert. They have good kids’ meal options plus a little gift area. Very clean and extremely nice service. Must try it all!

There are a lot of barbecue places in the Chicago area, but this is the best of the best. There’s no comparison to their exceptional menu, which includes smoked meats, the sides, desserts, and craft soft drinks. The brisket had perfect marbling and flavor. The peach beans, grilled jalapeno pepper, hand-crafted sauces, were exceptional. They also have an extensive menu that includes salads, Italian dishes, and more. There’s a lot to see in this great place, too, including fresh breads, home-made candles, the hand-made barn door, rustic light fixtures, and much more. All of this, plus a very clean restaurant inside and out are clear signs of the owners and staff’s great attention to detail, tremendous pride in what they do, and a clear focus on quality and excellent service. The sign near the entrance says, “Great BBQ makes fast friends,” and the friendly people here live by and stand behind that saying! Highly recommend this 10-star restaurant.

Absolutely loved this hidden gem! Phenomenal food. Authentic Southern favorites and spicy, fruity twists. I had the chicken and pork combo with potato salad, peach beans, cole slaw, cornbread – and spouse’s pickle. The smoked meat is excellent and don’t skip trying the blueberry chipotle sauce, plum whiskey sauce, and all the other house sauces. (Blueberry was my surprise fav.) Decor is mom & pop cracker barrel meets deep south diner – charming and clean! Also loved the complimentary finely-diced salsa and chips at the beginning. Yum!
