Such a cute spot for date night! Lots going on with the decor and music which created a unique atmosphere for the small diner. Staff was very friendly and checked in on us regularly and was helpful in deciding what to try. The showstopper of this meal was the Hawaiian Nachos, the portion size is insane and the quality is just as good. The pork is excellent and I appreciated the notes of other flavors particularly from the pineapple and the pickled onions. This thing could serve at least two people, don’t underestimate it like we did. My wife and I will be coming back for date night and splitting just these nachos for sure. Beyond that, we also ordered the lamb tacos, again the portion was more than expected and reasonable especially for the price. The lamb falls right off the bone and is very tender, however bit dry in the tacos and needs the salsas provided. I would suggest skipping the lumpia, it was very crispy but neither of us liked the flavor. When in doubt, pick the nachos. Overall, great portions, great prices, and very friendly staff. We will be coming back!

This was a gem to stumble upon in Richmond after a few breweries. Josephine and Kelsi were absolutely polished professional magicians behind the bar. It was so impressive watching them work. Josephine understood the assignment with my drink request. Kelsi was so kind and made everyone feel welcome. Food was delicious and we loved all of the little details with the tiki ambiance. Great escapism effect. We will be back!

This is really a unique restaurant. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the PuPu appetizer sampler and the the steak was cooked to perfection. The lamb tacos were also delicious and flavorful. The chicken dish was a miss for us because it lacked flavor and it was slightly dry. The portion sizes of each dish made it perfect for sharing. Overall we had a great experience.

Loved the vibe of this place. After studying the menu we decided to get the flaming pu-pu platter. My wife ordered a hurricane. She isn’t much on strong alcohol so it wasn’t for her but the server did try to add some more pineapple juice in it for her! Thought that was so nice. While we waited I washed my hands & the bathroom was very flamboyant. Enjoyed all the foods of the flaming pu-pu. The meat on the beef skewers was so tender! Also loved that coconut shrimp. Wish there were 4 pieces of everything though so you didn’t have to split that 3rd piece. Got the banana split as well and it was so nice! Probably the only way I will willing eat a banana. Loved all the ice cream. Was a nice way to end our meal.

the service could’ve been a bit better but the food/drinks & ambience balanced it out. They refused to seat my friend while the restaurant was mostly empty which was a bit strange. Then the waiter completely forgot about us. Other than that: Immaculate vibes & interior design !

The best lamb burger I have ever had!!
GREAT Calamari.
Nachos would feed 4 or 5, even if you were beating them off with a stick!
Seriously, this is great food, good people, very reasonable prices.
Our lunch was not planned. Just took a gamble on something close to the VA. Found the Little Nickel on maps and gave it a whirl.
Probably the best decision we’ve made all month.

Cute, cozy spot that works well for small to medium groups. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype or the long wait. I came for lunch and the place filled up within 30 minutes. Some tables that arrived after us were served first, and it took about 45 minutes for our food to come out.

Dropped by after catching a play for take out dinner. Little Nickel is a cozy neighborhood nook. We sOur host Julia did a good job she was cheerful and pleasant as she let us know that she was new to the establishment. I ordered my usual go to meal the Salmon cake sandwich. We also had the Impanema sandwich both w/fries. Little Nickel offers a nice amount of space for outdoor dining and indoor dining, they also have two enclosed patio’s.
