They offer indoor and outdoor dining with plenty of tables, plus bar seating. The dining room has a cool, unique vibe with a classic Ferrari in beautiful red parked right inside (think Magnum P.I. style)—definitely stands out. Some parts of the decor could use a refresh, but it’s totally fine and adds character.
Keep in mind, I’ve had a lot of real Italian food—grew up with my Nonna from Sicily, lived near Little Italy in NYC, and spent time in Italy—so expectations are high for anything claiming authenticity.
Service was confusing from the start, even with only 4-5 customers at a time. We got sat, waitress asked for drinks right away. Asked for a drink menu and she said they don’t have one because it changes so often they’ve ‘given up.’ Ended up with two sodas brought out as cans with glasses of ice—we poured ourselves. Then we ordered an appetizer, another waitress came by and took our full order again, and the first one circled back later. Just felt disjointed and weird.
Noticed the menu online doesn’t match what’s in the restaurant either.
The staff wore simple black shirts and pants, and the owner was walking around the dining room in sneakers, shorts with a patch falling off, and a t-shirt. It gave more of a casual Greek diner vibe than an Italian trattoria, which added to the overall mismatched feel.
Food took about 30 minutes, which was okay. My wife got the spinach ravioli—okay, but the ‘creamy sauce’ was thin and not as rich as expected. I went with chicken parm and was underwhelmed: the cutlet seemed reheated, bottom soggy with zero crisp, chicken chewy. Fresh mozzarella on top was broiled nicely though. Spaghetti was al dente, but the sauce was bland, lacking any bold flavor or depth. Dishes overall felt plain—no real garnishes, herbs, or fresh elements. For the prices (fine-dining level), it should have been more elevated—this felt far from a true trattoria experience.
When the check came, there was a handwritten note offering a cash price with an $8 savings. That’s fine and all, but it came off pretty unprofessional—maybe just me, but it felt a little shady. Would’ve been cleaner to have the cash discount option printed right on the receipt instead of scribbled by hand.
The Ferrari is a fun gimmick and the spot has potential with its location, but the execution didn’t live up to the hype for me. Curious to see if the owner chimes in—I’ve heard responses can get sarcastic or combative on reviews here.
That said, the food is genuinely delicious – full of flavor and clearly made with care. It’s clear that the owner aimed to create an authentic Italian atmosphere, but unfortunately, the execution misses the mark.
If you can overlook the setting and service, the food itself is well worth trying.
Great food arrived fast, wine was very good and the service also great! Happy to come back again!
Buenisimo. I can’t wait to go back.
