i’m usually generous with reviews, but this was absolutely ridiculous. chicken korma on left, butter chicken on right. entree and rice should be switched for the price ($16 and $18). Absolute rip off. Did not even taste like butter chicken (had an interesting spice??), chicken korma
chicken was dry. there was hardly any butter chicken, looked like absolute slop too, had to add some spinach at home. to top it all off, we usually tip 18-20% but tip suggestions started at 20% (options were 20%, 25%, 30%). the box also was marked b.c. for butter chicken so if this was not butter chicken by mistake, that’s ridiculous.

I’ve been getting food at this place since it was called Golden Spice of India.

I’ve always gotten the Biryani and the samosas but since the menu options have changed, i thought I’d try out the curry and the garlic naan.

The food here is certainly delicious, enough to satisfy a meal and I could swear they have a tandoor somewhere in that food truck if there’s from the quality of the naan.

While the spice level is certainly catered to a western palate, it’s still appreciable and of course delicious. Their spicy option had enough spice to be noticable to me but know that I eat fairly spicy food regularly.

I found the meal pleasently spicy because sometimes you don’t want to eat very spicy food and just want a nudge instead of a kick.

I specifically got obsessed with Golden Spice of India due to their Aam ka achar, a Punjabi condiment of pickled green mango in various spices. It’s a flavour that I find iresistable. While Little Indian doesn’t have aam ka achar per se, their mixed pickle does include pickled mango.

I ended up spending $37ish with the biryani, garlic naan, extra extra mixed pickle, and finally a mango lassi. Note that this includes a 15% tip for 2 purchases and I got way more mixed pickle than someone would usually get.

The mango lassi was tasty and the perfect way to finish the curry, i wouldn’t get it again for the price it currently is. I also prefer my mango lassi to be thicker and with a specific blend of yogurt and kefir but that’s just me being particular.

Unless you’re particular like me, get the mango lassi after you finish a meal there or with your meal if your spice tolerance is low.

Unfortunately, i don’t have photos currently because I ate all the food before even thinking of taking a photo, I was quite famished but left satisfied.

3 stars are for the service we received. The staff at the food truck was really kind. The owners really need to step up. Garlic naan they serve is frozen from store and just thawed and re-heated before serving. The staff wasn’t trained to make malai kofta which we had ordered so he had to call and ask the owner how to make it. marks for the effort by the staff. He also offered us extra naan and some desserts to take home to compensate for the bad experience we had. I went here after reading all the reviews maybe just caught them at the wrong time. I’d go to the other location for better experience

The butter chicken was delicious, just the right amount of spice for me at a medium. Would recommend! I even got another serving for later
