Every time I come home I just have to go to lil Mint and get me 2 chicken legs and a bowl of coleslaw. I love this place. Oh yeah with a Pepsi.

I have been born and raised in the town of Windsor. Now, I travel overseas and across the country and currently residing in Greensboro NC. The honest truth is that you cannot get any other excellent food such as Little Golden skillet’s anywhere else. Of course, the store is old looking and some of the people that works there are high schoolers, but people have to understand that this is the country. This is not just a small town where there is a Mac Donald’s or Walmart around but the COUNTRY! Food here has always been amazing and just like any other restaurants, there maybe some bad days.

If you’re stomach can handle grease and lots of it, you’ll enjoy their signature fried chicken. If you’re really feeling adventurous, try one of their turnovers (also grease laidened). Great tasting food; bad for your system.

The BBQ here is amazing–I usually don’t like NC BBQ because it’s too vinegary. But Little Golden Skillet’s is PERFECT. Their BBQ blend is savory, hush puppies were nice and soft on the inside, apple fritter was freshly fried and flaky. Found this place by accident on a long trip and would absolutely like to eat here again.

Every time I visit from NY this is always my first stop for some good chicken and chopped bbq. Their food is always fresh.

Couldn’t decide between the BBQ or the fried chicken. Good morning thing they had a platter they had both. The BBQ was a Carolina version without sauce yet was very tasty. The chicken was true to southern tradition. Will go back. It is a 2 hour drive from me but worth a visit at least once month.
