I got the Mediterranean Goulash and a side of French Toast. The toast was great and the goulash wasn’t heavy at all, and I should have just ordered the half portion, took like half home as leftovers.
Things to know:
-You will always have a wait on a weekend. Just a fact.
-Come prepared to wait, and like the original, there is good parking and the buzzer you get will work in your car.
-The food choices and portion sizes are expansive and ridiculous. There will be leftovers and/or you will need a nap after.
-They are creative with their seasonal specials and they are always worth trying.
-The team is always lovely, I have never had anything but the kindest greetings and most helpful and competent servers in any of the restaurants.
My sister’s bday is on Valentine’s Day so taking her out for her bday is always a bit of a challenge. This year we braved Little Euro on a Saturday, Holiday in the late morning. Rough mix for a Euro and knew we were there for the long haul. They were overrun as expected and they were cheerful despite the onslaught. We started the seasonal beignets, chocolate dipped strawberry – see pix, and they were out in a minute, hot, puffy and delicious; as well as a carafe of really great, hot coffee and the mimosa flight, watermelon was my fave, very refreshing and not too sweet, the seasonal one was peach/raspberry. Then the hard decisions on food. The only picture we did not get was the cinnamon roll we got for the “birthday cake” because we had to take it to go because there was just no way we had room for that. See pix of food, there is a “lighter fare” section that was perfect for our mom’s smaller appetite. Realistically, we could have all had it and had a great breakfast, but now we have leftovers for days. Our total bill for 3 of us was $103 before tip, so check out the pix and judge for yourself about the value. Nothing was price jacked for the holiday. 1 starter, 3 coffees, 1 mimosa flight, big enough to share, 3 huge breakfasts and 1 monster cinnamon roll. Felt like a good value to us, especially these days. Absolutely worth it!
Important additional note: There were a couple of small hiccups, they handled them like pros who care about their customer experience. They handled everything efficiently and checked in a bunch after to make sure we were good.
Photos won’t let me add titles for some reason so here is what they are: beignets, mimosa flight, Florentine Benedict with a biscuit and jam side, Swedish meatball “goulash” (eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, meatballs and gravy with lingonberries; with a side of banana, pecan caramel French toast, the lighter side breakfast of 1 egg with 2 Swedish meatballs and gravy with 1 strawberry crepe.
It’s a little on the expensive side, but the quality and large portions makes up for it. I easily could have split my meal
Then we ordered, the cake plate had good selection of cakes but the ableskiver was under done.
The German potato pancakes were good but the sausage was more like a hot dog.
Coffee was good, the service was top notch for sure.
When we go again no German sausage or we will try something else.
