Double bonus, easily parked my suburban on the street. Wish I was headed back to Norfolk but alas that ship has sailed!

I snapped a photo midway with our meal.
We circumnavigate the block three times in order to secure parking. The cuisine exceeded our expectations. The chicken fried beef steak was flavorful and well seasoned, accompanied by excellent gravy. The restaurant delivered a satisfying experience.
The food was fantastic and the staff was like talking to an old friend.
We got the salmon cakes (my first time trying them and they were good enough I’d order them again), chicken and waffles, a kitchen sink dog, and then a basic breakfast for the tiny human.
My husband had the hot dog and salmon cakes and loved both (though he liked the bot dog a bit more).
I had the chicken and waffles and they were cooked absolutely perfectly. My only complaint, and it’s a small one, is that they syrup was too watery so there wasn’t much flavor in it and it didn’t coat the meal, just kind of dropped on it, but that isn’t a deal breaker, it was still delish.
All in all, you won’t be disappointed. The vibes are cute, prices are reasonable, great location, awesome people watching, and just an overall great experience.
Our server was attentive and professional, earning a perfect 10/10 for customer service. She made us feel welcome and ensured our meal was smooth from start to finish.
However, the food itself was average. While it arrived quickly, the flavors didn’t particularly stand out. We tried a few items, including scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, and a hearty breakfast skillet with eggs, bacon, and toast. Everything was well-prepared, but it lacked the savory punch you might hope for in a memorable breakfast.
Overall, it’s a pleasant place with great service. While the food may not be extraordinary, it’s a good stop for a decent meal. I’d still recommend checking it out, especially for the friendly service and cozy atmosphere.
My husband ordered the vegan skillet, and I went with the French toast platter with soy sausage—and OMG, the maple bourbon butter sauce was out of this world! Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere was just perfect for our special day.
Thank you, Little Dog Diner, for the warm hospitality, amazing service, and fun experience. We’ll definitely be back—many times!
