Little Coxwell Restaurant is a Vietnamese and Thai restaurants characterized by its curious ‘chef-in-a-bowl-of-soup’ logo. In any case, there’s lots of seating inside (I reckon those are Ikea tables and chairs) and offers curries, noodle soups, rice dishes and more.
This informal restaurant serves traditional Vietnamese & Thai dishes such as curries & pho.

I placed a phone order for beef soup for pickup, and when I got home, I noticed the meat had dark blue spots on it, which clearly indicated it had gone bad. I did not consume it. The next day, I called the restaurant and explained the situation. I was told they would replace the soup.
When I went to the restaurant to pick up the replacement, the experience was shocking. The owner was very rude and disrespectful and accused me of injecting blue ink into the meat, which is completely false and offensive. I have owned and operated a restaurant on the Danforth for the past 15 years, and I would never do something like that—especially over a $17 soup.
Instead of handling the situation professionally, I was treated poorly and made to feel uncomfortable. I am writing this review so other customers are aware of my experience and to hopefully prevent similar treatment in the future. Photos are attached for reference.
– Chicken Vermicelli with Spring Rolls: Huge serving size. Chicken was pretty tasty and tender enough. Noodles and veggies were standard. Side spring roll wasn’t overly fried and had a good amount of meat which was great.
– Jackfruit Milkshake: Really strong jackfruit taste which I loved. Could have been blended a bit more but I’m nitpicking.
Place is small but well laid out. Service and kitchen are efficient. Prices are what prices are these days. Good spot for a quick a filling meal.
The Springroll was also delicious!
I was visiting my daughter and will definitely order again next time I am in Toronto.
Atmosphere is great too, very welcoming and authentic
The Fresh Shrimps Rolls were full and crisp, the Calamari nicely fried and seasoned, the Kalbi Beef Ribs were meaty and well-cooked, and the Chicken Spicy Basil Glass Noodles were very tasty and spicy.
Pad Thai was exceptionally delicious, very balanced flavor with the sear I’m looking for in a good stir fry.
Edit: just tried the fried rice, holy it is probably one of the best fried rices I’ve had in Toronto. Juicy crunch from perfectly cooked shrimp and the rice is evenly seared. 10/10 I’m hooked.
They’re really friendly, chatted them up and made sure to let them know their stir frys are exceptionally good
