Little Bull serves “pocho cuisine,” a mix of Mexican roots and American influences that reflects Chef Oscar Diaz’s life as a first-generation American. The food is bold, personal, and doesn’t fit into typical labels. Diaz and his partners bring decades of experience and pride in their heritage to the table.

This was an amazing experience. Each person orders two to three small plates and then everyone gets a portion of each plate. The plates don’t come out at once so you have time to really enjoy each one. Drinks were delicious. Atmosphere was nice but we sat under the covered patio and it was a bit chilly. We would definitely come back again.

BARBACOA is really yummy like 10/10.
Octopus is fairly good a bit burnt and bit salty 9/10.
Tuna Bulgogi is huge disappointment especially it’s the signature dish highly recommended by the waiter XXX the fired rice is extremely salty and sweet. As a dish charge $45+ I’m not expecting any excuse for this fall short 1/10.
Hipster vibe restaurant, I would give 6.8/10 mild pass. Decent overall, though it hasn’t quite lived up to the standard it positions itself at.

First, our server was very sweet and the restaurant was setup super cute. The small plates we got were: 1) bao buns – very mid; 2) gambas – best thing we had; 3) papas – good flavor but only got maybe 3-4 bites out of this entire dish; 4) arepas – needed more spice/flavor. The cocktails were also decent. Overall, the presentation was great but nothing about anything we had was genuinely memorable. The portions were absolutely tiny for the insane prices charged. Of all the great food in Durham, I don’t think I would put this one on the recommended list.

This is a winner of a tapas place we stumbled across, but so glad we did. Although parking sucks because it’s street only parking, this is a gem of a place.
Starting with some great mocktails, they were refreshing with unique fruit syrups and fresh herbs. The bao buns were delicious with a delicious crispy shrimp, although I wish there were more shrimp for the amount of bun. The mildly spicy sauce and crispy carrot shavings were a great compliment. I wish they’d try a pickled cucumber to this dish!
The fried green tomatoes would have been great if it were not for the big hunk of tuna that was sandwiched inside the tomato. It just didn’t work, which is a shame because the tomatoes were fried perfectly and topped with a delicious cream sauce.
The churros bites were not churros at all, more like donut holes, but they were good and the mango icecream with it was delicious. The star of the whole night was the Mexican bread pudding! The was some seriously awesome stuff! It was a perfectly chewy bread pudding with a lovely caramel sauce, and I’ve had some of the best bread puddings ever from New Orleans. I know they change the menu constantly, but I hope they keep this one!

Little Bull is an absolute gem in Durham. The food is incredibly authentic yet super creative, the perfect balance between honoring tradition and pushing flavors forward. Every dish feels intentional, bold, and thoughtfully executed. You can tell there’s real passion behind the menu, from the ingredients to the presentation. A must-visit if you appreciate inventive cooking that still feels soulful and rooted. We’ll definitely be back.

My wife and I dinned at this fine establishment on Valentine’s Day. We were taken care by Xavier, who was just phenomenal. We tried their tasting experience, and Xavier recommended the ceviche. I was skeptical, as I have never like Ceviche before, but oh boy was that delicious. When I saw one of the dishes being served in a plantain leaf and a corn leaf, this really represented authenticity with an Elegant twist. Needless to say, the pictures do not do justice to the presentation; nor do words to the amazing flavor. We will definitely be back and definitely recommend.

The food was absolutely incredible, what an experience!! My favorites were the NC Crudo and the Octopus and Butters Beans. I had the Amalia’s Tea (which comes out in a cute teacup) and the Fallen from Grace, which was one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. We had Kamol as our server, and he was so diligent and knowledgeable – he brought us clean plates between our dishes, which I thought was a lovely touch.
