This was our first stop in Cedar Rapids and we were glad for it! We were looking forward to the Czech goulash. This place takes a traditional classic and adds a modern twist. They serve it with bread on the side, optional cheese and green onion garnish, and the goulash itself has chunks of carrots and potatoes. It was a hearty and delicious meal. My husband enjoyed his pork dinner with kraut. The staff recommended local sites for us to check out and were attentive throughout our meal. The imported Czech beer was also quite a treat!

Awesome food great timeless appeal! Cedar Rapids oldest bar and a great place to eat. Jeff is a wonderful owner/host and Amy is a delight. The tenderloin is classic, smash burgers are amazing. Beverage selection is wide without the high prices! A must visit place in CR and kid friendly.

Eclectic, laid back atmosphere. Dim lighting with half the building being windows.
Service was not perfect- a bit slow and uninvolved until the owner started taking care of us and he was a lot of fun and did a great job. It was our first time being there so might have been a fluke.
The food made it worth the wait, I had the breaded (famous) tenderloin and my wife had the triple decker and both were extremely good. Top two tenderloins I’ve ever had. Good selection of beers as well
Overall a good experience with fantastic food.

My wife is 100% Czech so when we were were near we had to stop in. The goulash was amazing, as was the pork tenderloin sandwich. Service was great.

Sourkrout was good, goulash could have used a bit more meat and maybe a bit more/stronger paprika. Customer service was excellent

We stopped to get some authentic goulash. It was very good, and worth the stop. Other meals purchased were hot beef and a French dip. Loved everything! Great atmosphere too!

It is a tiny little bar with a mostly typical bar menu of sandwiches and appetizers, but there was a Czech gem on the menu. The Jalapeno Poppers were huge and flavorful without being very hot. We loved them. And the Czech Goulash was superb. I really had druthers about ordering Goulash at a restaurant — I mean isn’t that what you cook when you are just tossing the left-overs in a pan together? Anyway, it had a delicate sausage and chili flavor all drizzled over scrumptious homemade dumplings that were light and fluffy.

Great little bar in the Czech quarter with friendly staff and great tenderloin. Will definitely try the goulash if we’re in town again.

A historic neighborhood bar in the most interesting area of Cedar Rapids. There was good live music and friendly service. Food choices were limited because of the late hour, but the goulash was pretty good.
