Cozy, brick-lined eatery featuring a rotating menu with international dishes, plus beer & cocktails.

If I could give this a 3.5, I would.
I like the innovative nature of the restaurant and meshing of cuisines. From the small plate view, this is not a place to go to stock up on food and get full. We didn’t get the XL meat due to people in our party not eating pork. We were quite excited to come here as we have heard wonderful things, but the menu didn’t live up to our expectations. Going through the reviews, people either love this place or think it is interesting and fair. I am in the latter group.
The pre-fixe menu was just okay with nothing standing out in terms of flavor or wow factor. I much preferred the small plates. The chicory salad was tangy, chrunchy, and left a pleasant heat as an aftertaste. The fattoush was also very nice. The cumin trout was flavorful. The chicken satay was quite good, and the spice was yummy but also very salty. The last dish of the evening was the creme caramel, which was off in texture (grainy) and was a very weird somewhat unpleasant taste.
I would say nothing wrangled me into wanting to keep digging in to one particular dish, like one does when engrossed with amazing food. There were also long stretches where food didn’t come out for 20-25 minutes. The service by the chefs was wonderful and by the servers just meeting the mark.

The XL meat option was AMAZING! Fried pork belly with sweet potatoes and salad. It was such a great combo of comfort food yet stylish looking and idk what vinaigrette the salad had but it was so light and yummy.
We were hoping to meet Diego, the new owner’s doggie but maybe he doesn’t make appearances? We forgot to ask. It was nice to see so much art about the doggies throughout the restaurant, and the doggie soap dispenser in the bathroom was the cherry on top.
We came here on a Sunday night so parking wasn’t too difficult. Drinks were excellent as well!

I had such a memorable dinner at Little Bear in Summerhill! From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt creative and welcoming, with an open kitchen and playful energy that sets it apart from typical dining spots. The menu is full of inventive small plates that change with the seasons, so every dish feels fresh and exciting — and the wine and cocktail list was equally thoughtful. The flavors were bold and beautifully balanced, and while the portions lean small‑plate style, it made the whole meal feel like a fun, shared experience with friends. The service was friendly and attentive, and the whole night felt like something special — I can’t wait to go back and try even more of what they’re offering!

This was one of the best meals of the year. We are industry people and eat out once a month at nice restaurants to see what Atlanta has to offer. I feel we know the industry since we are the beverage director, the GM, the head chef and bar manager at Delbar Buckhead. This meal exceeded expectations in every way.
First the service. We got checked in and one of the hosts were on the phone and I really liked her tone and playfulness dealing with the guest. She was pleasant and it felt like she really liked her job.
The server (Sam) was also very nice and friendly and told us some of her favorite dishes. She took our cocktail orders right away. At some point they changed servers and she was just as pleasant and friendly as our original server.
My first cocktail was the Boston Cooler which I enjoyed. The rest of my group ordered sparkling wine and other cocktails, but they were not my cup of tea. I switched to the Magic Word which ended up being delicious and I stuck with it for the rest of my visit.
We literally ordered every dish on the menu and went back for seconds on the trout and chicory salad dish, but the stand out dishes were the chicken liver custard and the pork belly. I could literally drink whisky and eat the chicken liver custard all night. The flavors were bold, with a little spiciness, sour, sweet and savory. It worked and there was no dish that we wouldn’t have again. Dessert was the Benne Pudding and Mochi Cake. The pudding was my favorite of the two. Our chef even asked how the Fattoush was prepared and what a black oyster caesar was.
Let the chef know that we look forward to him coming to Delbar Buckhead and giving him as great an experience as we got at Little Bear.

Do NOT go to Little Bear if you love national chain restaurants, fast food or bland food. This experience wasn’t a party in my mouth it was a whole festival! We sat at the bar and I loved being able to see the chefs with their magic! The waitress was engaging, knowledgeable and witty! Because these are small plates we got 5 dishes and a dessert. Since it’s dry January we also got a mocktail. The first dish that came out was the Emerald soup….. The broth was a delicious spicy medley but the chicken meatball!! Yum yum yum. Our second dish was the chicken satay again very unique flavors and fresh. Third dish Raw Beef… I’ve had my share of beef tartar… This was 100% better than any tartar I’ve had. We also had the Fatoush salad which was refreshing and the dressing was light and flavorful. The last thing we had was the cumin lamb which was seasoned very well. For dessert we had the Blondie brownie with the whiskey milk! The Blondie is not cake like more like a semi soft cookie. I give Little Bear a 10 out of 10! It’s just a special cozy spot. Not pretentious, not over done just a comfy and lovely food experience!

Little Bear was a fun and creative dining experience! We ordered one portion of the Prix Fixe menu and the crispy trout and shish taouk. My standouts were the crispy trout, tas kebab, and the persimmon flavored frozen yogurt. It makes sense why this place was given a Bib Gourmand award!

It just was an odd experience that did not live up to the hype. We ordered 5 things and the first 3 things – soup, salad, squash dish all just had too much heavy, fermented, acidic, sour flavors that really kind of shot our taste buds. They need like complementary bread of some sort or rice or something to cut through the intense flavors, at least one of the dishes had orange in it to brighten it up. The chicken was solid and more balanced and the cocktail was great in addition to the attentive service. But the decor was very haphazard and the wait staff could be dressed nicer so for a finer dining experience it seemed kind of like an identity crisis was happening. At least only use plates that have the comic strip intact and not smudged off.

1st time there, but with another couple who had. Small plate style menu. The 4 of us shared 1O-12. ALL were delicious! Each was very creative and had wonderful flavors. We tried cocktails from their menu, and those too were creative and great. Cute, cozy, fun atmosphere, but gave that 4 stars because it was pretty noisy if one wanted an intimate quiet conversation. Our server was amazingly helpful. We’re definitely going back!!

My fiancé and I have dined at Little Bear probably 10 times now, and they never cease to amaze us with their creative plates! We always choose Little Bear for any celebratory dinner and every single time, whatever it is we are celebrating is acknowledged by the staff. This time was no exception as we received a hand written postcard congratulating us on our engagement! It’s the little things that make this truly Michelin level service on top of the amazing food. Unfortunately the food was so good, I only got a snap of the first 3 dishes we ordered as I was too eager to eat the other plates!! We always get the XL meat plate and it never disappoints.
We can also always just tell the difference in ingredient quality eating here over other restaurants. No matter how much we indulge, we never feel too stuffed or uncomfortable afterward. Almost like we’re eating in Europe! One of the best restaurants in Atlanta for sure.

Little Bear is one of the top restaurants in Atlanta. Located in the heart of Summer Hill, a reinvigorated neighborhood just south of Grant Park, they have excellent service and fabulously inventive plates. The menu options include several small plates, a prix fixe menu and one meat option. We’ve been there twice with groups of 3 to 4. Every time we shared the dishes. This trip we had almost all the small plates and the meat offering which was like a slow cooked brisket. If you’ve ever had Flemish stew it was similar but with an outer crunchy texture. I can’t emphasize more how interesting and creative the offerings are. It is a small space so if you want a table reservations are required. There are about 10 bar seats. If you want those, you can just drop in. I recommend on the later side for better chances. Other outstanding things include the service which was timed perfectly. Not an easy thing when there are so many dishes. To top it all off, it’s reasonably affordable. We had 3 drinks a piece and all the food for $100 a person. Absolutely fabulous and I hope they keep it up!
