we ordered:
• pepperoncini salad – so good and huge portion
• mozzarella sticks
• pizza w pepperoni, pepperoncini, & onion
• cheesesteak w side of fries (this was the wednesday night special)
• sides of pepperoncini ranch
the food as always was incredible, but the service was not good. two parts of our order were incorrect — for the pizza we ordered pepperoni & pepperoncini on full pizza and red onion on half. the pizza we got was pepperoni & red onion on full pizza & pepperoncini on half. then we never got the fries that came with the sandwich, but at that point we were too full to go request the fries and we had already asked for the ranch we ordered multiple times so we were just over it.
also — they used to make the pizza with sesame crust which really set the pizza apart. i was devastated to see our pizza didn’t have sesame crust. i’m not sure if they stopped making the pizza this way or if you have to specifically order this type of crust.
i would definitely recommend this place because the food is amazing, but next time we will probably just do take out to avoid the poor service. still love this spot! but this was 3 star service and 5 star food, resulting in an overall 4 star rating.
Had to get all our cutlery, plates, and napkins ourselves-funnily enough there was a giant tip jar near the register.
Sandwich was decadent but good-not greasy!
Fries were fresh cut so they were pitiful.
Food took forever.
If you want to come here and spend $35 on a pizza and $20 on a sandwich- then I suggest getting it to go!
Usually top notch quality but didn’t hit this time. Pizza seemed under cooked and didn’t look like the photo for the weekly special. Barely any pepperoni and didn’t put sesame seed crust like it was supposed to have.
They also added the cheese-wiz on the to go fries which made them soft and soggy by the time we picked up and got home. We got there at our pickup time and definitely seemed like it had been sitting out for a bit as the pizza wasn’t very hot (only live about 10 minutes away).
We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a cooper sharp cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. Not just in Denver, but anywhere. The freshly made sesame seed roll was fantastic and the ratio of meat to cheese was perfect. The chef came to our table and let us know the pizza was going to come out about 10 minutes late because they overcooked the first one, which was no big deal to us. He came back around a few minutes later with a complimentary pepperoncini wedge salad, which was a very nice gesture. The salad was bomb by the way, very garlicky and creamy, and the addition of bread crumbs made from the leftover sesame seed rolls added a great textural component. Lastly, the pizza came out and I could tell just by looking at it that it was going to be great. The quality of ingredients really stuck out here—the tomato sauce tasted simple and fresh, the mozzarella was delicious, and the crust was on point. It had almost no flop, despite the slices being huge. It was crunchy with just the right amount of char and chew. Unquestionably a top-5 pizza in Denver.
I’ve seen quite a few people complain about the prices here, but we found those concerns to be overblown. At face value, it seems expensive, but the portions are huge. The cheesesteak is big enough to share, unless you’re very hungry. The pizza is massive and would comfortably feed four. We spent $68 with tip, but it is going to end up being two meals for my wife and I. For this quality of food, that’s absolutely worth the price tag.
Absolutely fantastic, we’ll be back soon to show some friends. I’m also dying to try the whiz wit now that I’ve had the cooper sharp.
It was hot, the people were nice, but my issues started when I bit in to it. The chicken was so so so firm and dry. At some points, I had to hold the piece of chicken with my other hand while biting just to separate it from the rest of the cutlet.
It was almost like rubber, hard to explain. I can not help but think my specific piece was just severely overcooked. There is no way it is like that every time or else this place would not be popular. I can not even eat the 2nd half of my sandwich.
Not trying to leave worse than 3 starts because I know it might have just been a bad day, but it is going to be tough for me to ever come back 🙁
