Lite and Soul Eatery is hands down one of the best soul food spots. I live almost 40 mins away and I look forward to going there to get some food for my family. Chef Raz absolutely stands on business and she makes sure what she puts out is not only good, but the food is consistently amazing. Every bite.
For those who have an issue with the timing of the food, something gotta be wrong. Her Raz cooks to order and each and every time, the food is fresh, hot and tastes amazing.
I would have showed some pics but I forgot to take some because the food smelled so good, when I got home we just ate it. Thanks again Sis for making your mark and for providing quality meals.

The rating being only 4.1 is criminal. Best Soul food in NJ and it’s not close. We lost Je’s and Chess House and I lost hope UNTIL I found this place. And the owner is the sweetest. Don’t hesitate just go.

Food was overall good. Beef ribs were very yyyyyyyyyy beefy. Wished for more BBQ sauce. Typically like baked Mac n cheese ..more cakish but these were lose but very tasty. Wasn’t fond of the collard greens…not well seasoned. Yams were lightly sweetened not too little not too diabetes! Cornbread was authentic. Some make it too sweet….this was just right. Wish I had a bigger piece.
The atmosphere was a bit cluttered…half restaurant half storage but I didn’t feel like an unwanted creature was going to pop out and I get the woes of not having enough real estate in a brick and mortal to satisfy your storage needs. Overall I’d give it an A. I’ll definitely go back.

Got there just as the owner was coming in, and she got to work right away, she was very friendly, she interacted with all the customers very well, asking if this was your first time and mentioned she has been there for 11 years and II am just hearing about this business just last year. The atmosphere and service was great, my order took less than 15 mins for me to receive even though there were other people there before me, so I just had to be patient but ot was worth the wait. The food was great, no complaints here at all, I did tell the owner I will be back again, just because I like supporting my people. See you soon.

Although the food is good. The girls that take the orders have a nasty attitude. Not friendly nasty attitude and looks at u up and down. I try to support all black bussiness and the chef is a sweet heart but I can no longer order from here as the cashier with the lonnng eyelashes has a bad attitude. Today was my second time ordering from Lite and Soul. It will be the last time. When I initially ordered they had me pay and said the wait time would be 30 minutes. I was fine with that. After an hour of waiting I called and they advised that it would be ANOTHER hour before the food would be ready. What was initially 30 minutes……. turned into two hours. So I asked the owner if I could get a refund and she rudely, and adamantly said “No, you knew there was a wait when you ordered.” I told her I could not wait two hours…..so she kept my money.
This is horrible customer service. If you know the wait will be 1-2 hours (maybe more time) let people know prior…..and don’t refuse to refund once they learn that they were MISLEAD about the wait time. Very poor customer service.

It felt like family when I walked in. Everybody was so nice and I really appreciated waiting for my food. I will be going or try to go once a week. Thank you so much. The food was excellent. I had wings with baked mac & cheese and yams and yams was so sweet and so good.

I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t place my order over the phone, but I decided to go in person when they opened at 3:00 PM. I arrived around 3:30 PM, and there were at least 10 people already waiting inside, so it seemed like the food wasn’t quite ready yet. The wait was a bit frustrating, especially since they had already opened.
That being said, the customer service was excellent. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and professional, which definitely made the experience better. I did notice a previous review from several months ago mentioning that the front area looked like storage, and unfortunately, it still appeared a bit cluttered. I think cleaning and organizing the space would really improve the overall atmosphere.
I would return because the staff was so kind, and I’m hopeful that next time the food will be ready on time. I’m especially looking forward to trying the cornbread since it was unavailable during my

We put in a very large catering order for our Family & Friends Giving which consisted of Mac & cheese, collard greens, yams, potato salad, stuffing, cornbread, fried chicken wings & meatballs. When I tell you EVERYTHING was & I mean EVERYTHING!!! This sista makes everything from scratch! You can taste the love she puts into cooking with every bite! If you’re looking for a great catering experience or a great spot to pull up & grab some really good food this is the spot!!
