Wow! What great food! We had one of the best burritos we have ever had – and it was vegan to boot. They have quite a number of vegan options here, including a vegan dessert! Plus, the people who work here are really friendly, and the atmosphere is funky and relaxed. Even the other people eating here were friendly, and we fell into conversation with other diners while we enjoyed our terrific meal. We were just passing through Gardner, but we will make this restaurant a destination in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant, to vegans and omnivores alike. It’s worth going out of your way to get here.

I’ve been a longtime take-out customer of Lisa’s Legit Burritos in Gardiner because I work locally and like to support neighborhood businesses. In the past, I’ve enjoyed their burrito bowl with pork, and while there have occasionally been small inconsistencies, nothing prepared me for the quality of my meal today.

What I received today was disappointing and frankly unacceptable. The “pork” portion was maybe a tablespoon of cold, dry scraps, nothing like pulled pork. It was obvious this came from the bottom of the pan, leftovers scraped together, with the texture more like the hair you’d pull out of a brush, and any real pieces hardened and unpalatable. I ended up picking it all out, I wasn’t willing to risk food poisoning.

What bothered me even more was the lack of basic care: nobody asked if I’d like a substitution (chicken or beef) despite clearly failing to deliver acceptable pork. As a fairly frequent customer, I would have appreciated some honesty or at least an offer to get something else; especially after leaving a 20% tip for take-out.

I used to come back because the overall vibe..friendly, local, casual, it was worth it. But this experience makes me seriously reconsider. Quality control and pride in what you serve should be constant. I wasn’t going to leave a review, but if nothing is said then nothing will change.

Excellent. Just really good food and a casual, friendly atmosphere. I’m not vegan but choose the sweet potato filling for my burrito and it was fantastic. They also do a butternut squash option along with the traditional pork, chicken and beef. Very reasonable pricing and three size options. Highly recommended.

I live in town and come every few years, got a chicken burrito and the rice was so bland . every time it’s like wet napkins and so flavorless , seriously is it hard to make the rice have flavor and be above lukewarm ? When I bit in I could taste water it was weird. , also 90 percent rice and 10 percent bits of chicken etc not that great for 15 dollars! “Shop local” is your thing but you charge for everything it’s nickel and diming .you put so little cheese and no sour cream and force people to pay 2 extra dollars for what should already be in there , plus no chips! . Add more for lettuce etc you got a 20 dollar wet napkins burrito. I challenge all people who go here cut that burrito in half before you eat , see the lack of meat and overage of the rice and beans. I have el agave menu for burrito below you can see they don’t nickel and dime and cheaper, make the drive trust me. I’ll be back in a few years if you guys are still open hope you can get it together !

I came here twice passing through with my husband for lunch.
This little place was cute, very festive and the waitress was adorable.
Food is abundant but lacks real flavor. I was wanting some authentic Mexican flavors/spices but it was more like TexMex.
Good enough to try twice but disappointing in authenticity.
Having lived in New Mexico and Texas, I was looking forward for some southern spices. But it is a good little place to get some American burritos.

This was hands down the best burrito I’ve ever had in Maine. Grilled veggies, pulled chicken, homemade tortilla…divine! People of Gardiner and visitors—don’t go to McDonald’s, get Lisa’s!

$50 for 2 lunches with a tip and drinks. While the food is excellent and the staff quite good the atmosphere is not great. Metal music. Unfortunately can’t afford this place too often.

The black bean & rice burrito I ordered was underwhelming. The rice was plain and bland, and the beans rather under-seasoned as well. I was hoping for more out of a place offering “legit” burritos, but ended up quite disappointed, and spent $19 on something I felt I could have made at home with about $3 worth of ingredients.

At the very least, the staff was friendly and the service was fast. They do have a large selection of hot sauces.

Went there for the first time today. This is a small, mostly take out restaurant. The owner operator is talkative and knows his food. He shared recipe for garlic and hot salsa. The food was fantastic and service was friendly. Prices were excellent for what is served. Homemade hot and garlic salsas are awesome! The only critique I have on this first visit is the bathroom door does not shut so could not use. Nice little place and I recommend it highly!

Awesome vegan options! Customer service is great! The employees are always cheerful and joking. They messed up my order once and put chicken on my food, but remade it and gave me a side of guac for free which is always a bonus! 10/10. I prefer this location compared to the Augusta location. Augusta always seems packed and the customer service is not as good. Plus Augusta has messed up my food multiple times which seems to be a common theme there compared to Gardiner for whatever reason.
