I am not from Michigan, but here for a short term job. I looked up this place, and I saw 4.8 stars and 1700+ reviews… so I asked local workers, they said this place is ” LEGENDARY ” so I ordered 2 Chicago style dogs, and cheese fries. A MOUND of fries, hot and delicious, and the dogs were decorated like artwork. The counter guys were great, and I met the Owner, Tony. He LOVES doing this business, and it shows in how clean the place is, and how they prepare food. 6 stars if I could. Loved loved loved it.

Guys behind the counter are fun and welcoming. First place I stop for lunch when visiting Rochester, MI. The chili is the best! French fries are done to perfection and the hot dog is mouth watering!! May come back again tomorrow!

I think what was even better than the food was the friendly service. The owner was so kind and found us a table inside and made sure we had everything we needed even though it was busy. Loved everything about it! Even if we are from Texas, I’m confident in saying we will be back!

This unassuming place offers hot dogs dressed in more different ways than one can imagine ! They offer bratwurst, polish dogs, chicken nuggets and fries. Their food is awesome !! Mexican dog with their homemade hot sauce is fantastic ! Just one downside, it is cash only place. Great place for a quick bite .

I finally made it to Lipuma’s. It was a cool experience. The service was great and the food was excellent. I had the Coney, the Chicago Coney, and the Texas Coney. All three were good, but the Chicago Coney was by far the best. I’d definitely return.
Like many class restaurants, they don’t take any form of payment except for cash. They don’t do Uber Eats, DoorDash, or any third-party ordering apps. There’s an ATM machine on their deck if you’re not carrying cash.
Also like many classic restaurants, there’s a specific system that they use to take orders, so be aware of ensuring that you stand in the right place when you enter the front entrance. I’m a systems person by profession, so I always like to analyze how restaurants execute unique, internal systems. You have to stand in the order that you arrived when you enter the restaurant. I had to enter through the patio because I had to get cash. Had I gone behind the last person in line, I would’ve had to open the door and stand outside because there’s not much room inside and I would’ve crowded the gentleman in front of me who had just placed his order. One of the guys working there asked me to switch places with another guy who had just taken my order because of this. It makes sense, but it isn’t intuitive if the restaurant is crowded and you have to enter through the patio because you have to get cash.

Tony and his team are amazing!! I have been coming to Lipuma’s since I could walk there from my elementary school (over 30 years ago). The service, food and prices are great. The quality has been constantly wonderful for decades. My favorite order is seasoned chili cheese fries and a Chicago dog. I also love their coney dog with cheese. My kids love the chicken nuggets and hot dogs. Don’t let the line scare you, it moves quickly. Don’t forget cash only! BYOB

NEVER DISAPPOINTED!! Everything is amazing. Great tacos. Awesome dogs. Crispy fries. It’s an absolute must to get EVERYTHING topped with chili!! SOOOO GOOOOOOD! The service is excellent. The staff is always smiling and having a good time. The worst part about going is deciding what to order!! It’s so hard to choose! No matter what mood you arrive in, you will leave with a full belly and a smile.

Good grub cheap !!! The interior is cool, so are the staff…. chicago dog was my favorite of the day… this place is such a local favorite that they can’t keep swag in stock… lions theme shirts were gone… they were even out of their personal stickers…. two thumbs up A+++
