Many reviews are meant to applaud the food and service of a restaurant. Others to simply discourage and dismiss the hard work of owners and staff. This review is an honest, constructive critique to help a restaurant improve, and I hope Lindsey’s BBQ hears it well, because according to reviews here and on other platforms, food changes are desperately needed.

The service and servers were truly friendly and relatively attentive. Food was delivered much faster than expected.

The atmosphere and setting are comfortable and mostly align with the expected style of a BBQ joint, though they’ve gone a bit crazy with the pull tabs. It’s a solid place for family or a Saturday night with friends.

This is where we hit a wall. The food was unfortunate, to say the least. The main issue is that their meats aren’t smoked. Not in the slightest. Oven-baked brisket and “burnt” ends. Their original sauce is quite good once cooked and slightly caramelized, however, it’s also served cold, which is a grave mistake. You can tell they assume the liquid smoke in the sauce alone will make up for the fact that they’re not smoking or even charring their meats. It doesn’t. NEVER serve this sauce as a side.

We started with the nachos and brisket. Upon tasting, we were confused because the supposed brisket had the taste and texture of a shoulder roast cooked in water. We next had a half-pound of brisket and a pound of burnt ends—same issue. At least we were sure it was brisket by the cut, but it was by far the worst we’ve ever had. Gamey (fecal), fatty, and completely bland. This is the most substandard, cheap beef I’ve ever experienced. Had they at least seasoned it properly, that would have been something.

The burnt ends weren’t exactly burnt. They were more seared in a high degree oven, drying them out slightly without giving them any sense of char. Again, zero smoke. High fat, zero bone or gristle, significantly meaty. Had they been true burnt ends, they would have been quite good. The sauce was great, but the improper cooking method destroyed any desire to finish our plates.

The coleslaw was 6 out of 10. It was fairly flat and needed more tang, potentially a little more vinegar, sugar, celery seed, and lemon. The macaroni and cheese was the only hit. Despite other reviews, ours came out creamy and pleasant. Cornbread was okay, also 6 out of 10. Nachos come in at about the same rating.

The demise of most restaurants is generally the same. Food quality gets cut, cleanliness is overlooked, and service becomes complacent. They hit the first death knell long ago, and I imagine they suffer for it because you can see where they’ve overcompensated in other areas to increase profitability. Menu prices for anything on the platters are scrimping on sides and outlandishly high when compared to the likes of Old Southern BBQ, Wing King, Famous Dave’s, Dickey’s, or John Hardy’s.

Lindsey’s, if you take away anything out of what I’m saying, for the love of barbecue, PLEASE SMOKE YOUR MEAT. There is nothing barbecue about your restaurant. Make some changes and invite me back. I’d be glad to rewrite my review.

Linsey’s bar is an outstanding spot for family, friends, and overall fun. This place has amazing friendly service that went above and beyond to make the drinks outstanding and the food was unreal. Both bartenders and severs were knowledgeable and had great recommendations for all needs either dietary or drink preference. The owner Linsey went out of her way to make us feel welcome and almost like family. Bingo on Tuesdays is a time and a half – as is every other day of the week. This is definitely must go to place as the food and drinks make Jordan a town to visit.

JD was super helpful. We wanted a sampler platter and JD suggested, made one up special for us. JD was very genuine/courteous. We felt very welcome. The Texas cut brisket was fantastic. Ribs great! Chicken awesome. Sausage, what more can I say. The baked beans had a totally unique flavor. The BBQ sauces were so good too. What a great meal and a great value. Go there! Soon!

This is NOT barbecue.

I ordered the brisket platter and what came out was more like your aunt’s dry roast beef. They claim it’s been smoked for 8 ours but I challenge you to find any hit of a smoke ring. It clearly hadn’t been cooked long enough and it clearly hadn’t seen any smoke. There was absolutely no smoke ring to be found. It was two pieces of very dry, tough, awkwardly cut beef about 1/4″ to 1/2″ thick (was their meat slicer broken or nonexistent?), served at room temperature, with cold sauce served on the side. The sauce was actually tasty even though it looked like salsa, but it only served to make the very dry beef even colder.

My wife ordered the Memphis Pig Bowl, which looked good, but the onion rings served on top were still COLD! They fixed the issue and once they did, my wife said it wasn’t bad.

If all this wasn’t bad enough, just after we were served our food, they started vacuuming the floor even though there was plenty of time before close. They even were vacuuming right under our chairs as we ate! What a joke.

The one saving grace was the burnt ends. They were actually pretty good. I never go back but if I did, I’d just order this.

The chicken wings were awesome. Got the boom boom and bbq. Flavor and crispness were spot on. Beer was good and cold.

Well, this place wins Worst Place I’ve Eaten in a Very Long Time award. This is not bbq. The turkey and pulled chicken was extremely dry and the turkey had no flavor at all. The BBQ sauce was like a gelatinous salsa. I ate here 3 hours ago, and I feel really nauseous. Save your stomach and your money.

Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat. Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. If you like pull tabs, definitely stop in and play any of the 12 different boxes have!

I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was decent. The meat was nice and tender but there was not a lot of flavor to it which may have been a fluke since every time you smoke meat things can be different.

Overall, I would stop back in next time I swing through town and try something else on the menu.
