Lin’s Kitchen has been, without a doubt, the most authentic Chinese restaurant I’ve come across during my many years in Connecticut. Whether it’s for birthdays, anniversaries, or special holidays, this is always my top choice. The dishes here are truly authentic, far beyond the level of typical takeout places. I genuinely love the food here, and it’s the reason I confidently recommend it to friends.

Excellent restaurant. The best and most authentic I’ve tried in the area. It is a mom and pop restaurant where the husband makes all the dishes himself. Owners said he has many years of experience cooking in China and here. 10/10 overall.

Although the food here was actually very good, I’m not sure I’ll dine here again. When you come to the front door you have to ring the door bell for them to open it for you. Once inside the room was so gloomy and dark that you’re not sure if they really are open for business. We were then told that the prices of the menu were all incorrect, and the prices are higher now as indicated on their website…!? The Taiwanese beef stew noodle soup was good, but should just be called beef stew noodle soup. A few of the soup dumplings were stuck together that as you pick them apart so goes the soup. The beef ho fun was very small in portion. So.. yeah.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the service at this restaurant was unacceptable. The room was cold, and when we asked to move to a table farther from the door, the server refused, claiming the table was “reserved.” This was clearly untrue, as the table remained empty for our entire visit which lasted over an hour, right up until the restaurant was close to closing.
While the food itself was tasty, the service was extremely slow. On top of that, the restaurant is overpriced, and the menu prices did not match what we were charged. The staff said we were expected to check prices online instead of relying on the menu, which is just absurd. Why did the staff even hand over the menu then?!
To make matters worse, an 18% tip was added to the bill without our consent. This practice is unprofessional and disrespectful. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone.

WORST Chinese place ever. Dark eerie vibe, dirty floors and tables. Tasteless food that is way overpriced.
None of the menu prices are correct. After you order, owner would tell you actual prices are higher due to inflation. Actually prices vs menu prices was MUCH higher, such a scam!!! If you read other reviews, seems the owner used this bait and switch tactic for years. Someone should report this place for consumer fraud on the deceptive pricing.
Avoid like a plague!!!

The food was excellent, but the service was disappointingly slow, despite me being the only customer at the time. To make matters worse, the owner declined our 15% tip because it didn’t account for sales tax. It’s worth noting that tipping is traditionally calculated before tax, and it felt inappropriate to be pressured into increasing the tip—especially given the subpar service.
I would not recommend this place if good service is a priority for you.
