We ordered crispy chicken dumplings, chicken basil dumplings, Peking duck, and scallion pancakes. The food was decent overall, but not perfect. In my opinion, a few dishes felt a bit oily. The Peking duck was good, but it didn’t quite justify the price for me. For drinks, we had sparkling wine and Diet Coke, which were fine.
The ambience was the highlight of the evening — beautifully done, upscale, and perfect for a dinner outing. The service was decent and attentive enough without any major issues.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, mainly because of the ambience and setting. With a bit more refinement in flavors and balance in the dishes, the food could definitely match the vibe of the place better. A good spot to try once, especially for the atmosphere.
The service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone from the host to the bartender and servers, was friendly and attentive.
We started with the Basil Chicken Dumplings, which were highly recommended and did not disappoint. They were crispy, full of flavor, and paired perfectly with the sauce.
We also ordered the Veggie Fried Rice, which had great flavor. A small suggestion would be cutting the vegetables a bit smaller for easier eating and presentation, but overall it was very good.
We finished with the Kung Pao Chicken with Cashew Nuts, which was delicious and well balanced.
Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes.
Muy recomendado, excelente servicio y comida deliciosa.
The soup dumplings never fail—perfectly made, full of flavor, and incredibly satisfying every single time. You can tell a lot of care goes into the menu, and it shows with every bite. On top of that, the specialty drinks are always a fun surprise, creative, well-balanced, and a great complement to the food.
What really elevates Ling Wu, though, is the staff. Team members like Jake are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, making the experience feel welcoming and personal rather than rushed or transactional.
If you’re visiting Austin and love dumplings, Ling Wu should absolutely be on your list. It’s a place we recommend without hesitation and one we’ll keep returning to.
Food was a hit or miss. The Onion Pancake with potato curry was just meh, but the dumplings were a highlight delicious and cute presentation in a steam boat box!
Main courses were a major letdown though. My Szechuan Potato Glass Noodle was odious, and the Mei Choy Pork Belly had a repugnant sauce that overpowered the dish. Unfortunately, won’t be returning.
Overall, an average to slightly above average experience. If someone asked me where to get dim sum in Austin, I would direct them to Wu Chow downtown, then Ling Wu as a fallback option.
The staff was great from start to finish. We arrived early for our reservation and noted a small table preference. They had us sit at the bar while we waited, and the team happily accommodated our request right away.
Both the bartender and our server provided excellent service. Overall, a fantastic experience at Ling Wu. We’ll definitely be back.
