The owner was SUPER nice!! She suggested the steak taco’s with beans and rice and it was heaven on earth good!!! The fresh lime over all of it, made it even more tasty!! I highly recommend eating at this restaurant!!

I always order the pollo al vino and I’m never disappointed. It does take a good 20 minutes to prepare, so give yourself plenty of time. They make and sell their own fresh salsa, it’s delicious.

Excellent food, great service. A jewel in downtown Burlington. I like Mexican food and this was great. I had the enchiladas verda. You have to try the hot sauce which is different than the salsa that comes with the chips. It is hotter, and so good. The waitress seeing me eating the sauce on my chips said it was going to kill me I replied at least I will die happy. Great food. They do not take payment with a credit card, so bring cash. I have seen reviews saying it was not authentic. Let me say there is no such thing as authentic. You either like the food or you don’t. And I liked it very much. I gave it 4 stars just because I was truly surprised to find good Mexican food in Burlington Iowa.

Authentic Mexican cuisine in a quaint, casual setting. Extremely friendly staff and quick service form order to table. Initial contact may take a moment depending on how busy they are because they are sparsely staffed but the quality of the food is well worth the wait. I highly recommend supporting this small, family owned and operated business.

This is perhaps one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at. Freshly prepared with lots of savory ingredients and amazing flavors. You will not be disappointed with a visit to this local yard and family operated destinations.

Real down to earth authenticate location. Lunch menu was priced and portioned wonderfully. Service was fast, attentive without hovering. The establishment was also rather clean. Will visit again in future while working in the downtown Burlington area.

We were in town for a soccer tournament and this place was recommended to us by a fellow soccer family. It is cash or check ONLY with no ATM on site, so come prepared.
The place is family owned and by the sound of it, the wife waits on tables and rings them up while the husband is cooking.
Service was great, she was there by herself and there were 7 tables plus call in orders. She saw our player in costume/uniform and let us know that certain items were a 20-30 minute wait, she didn’t want him to be late for his next match. I thought this was very considerate of her and assured her we were done with games for the day.
Horchata was perfect! Not too sweet, perfect blend of rice, sugar and cinnamon. Azteca beans were delicious! Our food did take a while but we were expecting that and had been given warning ahead of time. I ordered a dish with steak, rice and beans. My spouse ordered shrimp and our child ordered a burrito. We all left with full bellies and plans to return during our next tournament.

Waited 2 hours just to get my ice tea, my sons coke in a bottle, and my wife and daughters sprite in cans. We then waited another 45 minutes after that for our food. When asking about the wait we just got excuse after excuse and kept getting told it is almost done. Not to mention after 3 hours of waiting they then added the gratuity to the bill because they knew they messed up and weren’t going to get very good tips. Never was asked if the food was good or if we needed anything had to chase down the waitress to get anything at all and then when the food did come it wasn’t even good and we all ended up with food poisoning over all experience negative 5 stars in my opinion would rather go to Taco Bell next time at least then I’m expecting it to hit my stomach wrong and the food would be quicker and taste better.
