Good spot for quick bites and freshly packed meals.

Stopped by a few times for breakfast and lunch, and my favorite item here is the small rice bowl topped with chopped Chinese sausage or chicken. It’s under $5 (technically $3.50 on the menu, but I always get charged $5 as a “custom item,” which seems to be the norm at spots like this). Either way, it’s filling and simple, especially if you catch it around opening time when the rice is still warm.

The other rice plates I’ve tried were decent. With places like this, the difference usually isn’t in the technique. Portions are fair, and everything tastes freshly made. Just note that it can take around 15–20 minutes for orders to be ready, so I’d recommend ordering in advance.

As far as I know, there aren’t many casual Vietnamese takeout spots like this south of here (at least not within a 30-minute drive). So if you don’t feel like heading all the way up to Little Saigon in Dorchester, this place might be a good alternative.

The Bahn Mi’s are very good, but the hours are wrong. I used to be able to come here and get a Bahn Mi within the listed hours, but the last five times I’ve tried when I get there the kitchen is broken down and they say they are done making food for the day. I’ve tried at various times between 4-7 PM. Not sure what their actual hours are now but I’m gonna stop trying.

I’ve been here many times but never left a review. Today the shop is reopening, so I decided to leave one. The bánh mì here is the best in the Boston area in my opinion, and the prices are reasonable. Today, they also added many new food items to the menu and expanded the space. The chicken rice and bánh cuốn are both delicious. I haven’t tried the bột chiên yet, but it looks like a big portion, cheap, and there’s a lot of new things to try.
Definitely coming back to try more new food!

Past by it many times while passing through Quincy so finally went in.
It’s a very small shop with 3 small tables or so.
Bought the Combo & Pork Bank Mi sandwiches.
Takes time to warm up the bread or take it as is and warm it up at home.
Strangely, you have to ask for fish sauce as it isn’t included like at other shops. Got 1 small plastic containers of it, one for each sub.
Price is relatively reasonable, considering the current high food prices, ~$8/each.
Bring it home & warm it up as the rolls get toasted & crunchy outside but it does fall apart so don’t warm up > 5 minutes. Adding the fish sauce makes it soggy & didn’t have much flavor, almost bland.
Overall, it was good but there wasn’t much meat and the bread overwhelms everything as that will fill you up.
I would return to try the other subs but would ask, & pay, for more meat. It even has a tofu or veggie version available.

HIGHLY recommend! You can’t get more authentic than this. Will definitely be coming back. Please order the classic banh mi!! And the noodle soups (bun bo hue and hu tieu) were all good. Also ordered the banh cuon as well.

Apologies for these poor pictures. I had no intention of reviewing this place and it wasn’t until I got half way though the first half of my sandwich that I realized the place was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ joint.

When you walk in it doesn’t look like it’s going to be very good, honestly. Don’t let that deter you.

I ordered the banh mi tofu sandwich. The tofu was seasoned perfectly, which is hard to get. The bread was crusty and was the perfect vehicle for the delicious mayo.

The lady working the counter didn’t notice us at first and was really apologetic for it. She was so kind and sweet. As customers came and went, you could tell they had regulars and that she has a personal relationship with them.

I had Bánh Mì Chả Cá and grilled beef here and they were very good. The pandan and mungbean drink was ok but not for me. Overall I had good experience.

Visited Banh mi Boston in Quincy today and was greeted by husband and wife owners who spoiled me and my friend with a taste of everything they had on display. They make all their own Vietnamese New Year snacks in house such as muc hat sen which is lotus seed that are soft and sweet, muc dua non which is sugar coated young coconut, and dehydrated fruits and even crystallized ginger! Along with your tradition Vietnamese Banh Chung Banh Tet and etc etc. they offer a good selection of Banh mi and offer both pork and beef options for the grilled meat Banh mi . Me and my friend chose bun Bo hue noodle soup from their hot food menu. They didn’t have everything on the menu to offer but it’s due to the fact they didn’t have time to make everything which is not surprising because they have so much variety’s to offer. The owners were super nice and checked up on us the entire time we were there to make sure if there was any thing we didn’t like they want to know so they can improve. I love that they were willing to accepting suggestions and are open to negative reviews and just want to customers to communicate with them.
I originally came back here (my 2nd time today) for Banh mi and Vietnamese coffee but decided to dine in today and end up walking out with so many things because everything looked so good and tasted fresh and delicious. Yes I also got my Banh mis and Vietnamese iced coffee which taste just as good as the first time i had it, I
Hope they’re able to keep up the consistency! The bun Bo hue was not as spicy I usually would have it and broth was more on the sweeter side but everything tasted very fresh and clean, nothing a bit of fermented shrimp paste couldn’t fix to be honest. Waking up today and going straight here for breakfast was such a good idea because I started my day with good vibes and good food.

This was a pleasant surprise, as I was actually picking up take out from next door but figured I’d pop in and grab some Vietnamese goodies. There are a few tables inside for dine in, which guarantees that your feed will be hot and fresh.

I ordered the banh cuon cha lua ($6) and banh mi thit nguoi ($5.50). The banh cuon (steamed rice rolls filled with wood ear mushroom + ground pork w/ pork bologna) was pretty good. Their menu says it comes with a shrimp cake and other pictures show a cha gio, but they might have ran out – instead it looks like I got extra pieces of cha lua! I was super impressed with the banh mi. The bread is the winner here, as it’s baked in-house and freshly toasted right when you order. The baguette has the perfect crunchy and crispy exterior while retaining a soft inside. The cold cuts were plentiful, and the mayo they use is delicious. I think the only thing they could improve on is perhaps the flavor of their pickled daikon and carrots – maybe they need to add more sugar into the brine. The pickled onions, however, were very good and added a nice tang.

I definitely recommend trying this place out, and having a little patience. They only recently opened are still getting the hang of operations and stock – if you’ve ever worked in the restaurant industry you would understand. The owner and front of house guy who takes your order are super friendly. Parking is not easy, as the coveted street parking spots are minimal and involve parallel parking with the busy traffic.

Overall I will be sure to revisit and order more items off their menu. The owner spoke highly of their bun bo, which happens to be my favorite. They also had a wide selection of che, both hot and cold varieties.

Food quality is great. I ordered crispy pork, bbq beef, bbq pork banh mi but I thought I ordered 3 vegetarian banh mi instead lol. Not much meat but veggies are top quality.
