Basic short-order breakfast & brunch spot known for diner-style items like pancakes & eggs.

Everyone referring to this as a hidden gem and it really is. We always make sure to stop here when working in DC. It’s become our ritual and it was actually my first experience of the “American breakfast”.
Proper local institution with a bustling atmosphere, fantastic service and humble, no-frills, tasty grub!
On occasions the food has been a little too greasy at times but it hasn’t stopped me visiting. Will always be on our list when in DC

If you know the term Greasy Spoon (and just want a normal cup of black coffee and good eggs) this is the breakfast spot for you. If you’re from out of town and not used to DC prices, brace yourself but it’s a great hot plate of food and kind quick service (at least on a Wednesday morning). The vibes are great and the plates, forks and cups are clean so don’t get huffy about the walls. Will definitely return and I recommend the Corned Beef Hash with over-medium eggs (like any diner ‘easy’ is runnyyy here) and a waffle, of course.

Don’t let theaesthetics of this spot fool you – it’s a true hidden gem for a delicious food or whenever the craving strikes. We opted for the breakfast classic crisp waffles, and they were absolutely perfect: golden, light, and with that satisfying crunch you hope for. The experience exceeded expectations and proved that great food and great service are what truly matter.

i visited DC for two days and wanted a cozy informal breakfast that made me feel like i was in a typical american movie. i wanted the whole experience, hot waffles, loud clinging noises from the cutlery, coffee refills, good people. i can happily say that i got it all!!! the waffles were SO GOOD, and the guy that served me was very funny and sweet. i had such a great time and wish i could stay a bit more to revisit 🙂

Lovely place, with very tasty food and friendly owners. As others mentioned, might look “uncool” from the outside, but the food and staff with compensate.
Their food is fresh, made to order, and the owners are very friendly and happy to help with everything. If you pass by the city, pay a visit.

I found a new food spot to try in DC. This little hole in the wall restaurant was packed. There wasn’t a single table left. My takeaways:
1. Service is fast and friendly.
2. The food is costly. 3 Chicken & Waffle Plates costs $73.00 bucks. That’s jive expensive for food that didn’t hit all the marks. Everything was “Okay” or “Alright.”
3. Worth a 1 time try because that’s the only time I’ll go there. I’ve had better breakfast food from a restaurant called, “Steak & Egg” on Wisconsin Ave NW. That’s my regular breakfast go to spot. I was in a hurry today and chose this at the last minute.
4. There’s no parking available in the area where this restaurant is. You’ll have to pay for parking in a garage to keep from being ticketed and towed.
All in all, I’ll give this place 3 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Stars although it’s really worth 2 1/2.

It’s clear why this place is a local favorite – the welcoming atmosphere and consistently delicious food speak for themselves! We were impressed with how quickly the amazing staff accommodated the crowd and got us to our table.
Our breakfast was outstanding: a hearty western omelet with wonderfully seasoned home fries, the classic combination of chicken wings and those amazing thin and crispy waffles, and a solid waffle, egg, and bacon. The waffles truly stood out – the ideal balance of crispiness and softness. Even the coffee was a great start to the meal.
This isn’t a fancy place, but it’s a testament to how great food and genuine customer service can create a beloved neighborhood spot. Highly recommended!

This was a little gem across the street from Ford’s Theater. Don’t expect anything fancy or high-end. I would set ego aside and enjoy. It’s delicious, fast, and has great service. I got the scrambled eggs with sausage, home fries, and a waffle. My wife got a BLT. Our waiter was very down-to-earth but confident in his food. The cooks were working away, and we got served in just a few minutes. The food was great. The waffle was simple, similar to a Waffle House, but it was tasty. My wife loved the bacon on her BLT. The fast service was nice because we had timed entry for the Ford’s Theater across the street. We had plenty of time to spare. If you’re in the area and are looking for a reasonable price, short wait times, and great food, we’d highly recommend this place.

Great food, efficient service, and highly chaotic and welcoming. This is a place you get in and out. Place was packed! If you’re looking for an affordable, quick, delicious meal, this is a humbling place with character and charm to get your morning coffee and classic American breakfast staples.

Visited here with family and the breakfast was great. Everyone at my table loved their meal and from what i can hear, so did all the tables around us.
The waffle was rich and light. The eggs were fluffy and they weren’t watery. The sausage had the perfect crisp to it, but it wasn’t burned which is hard to come by. The hot chocolate looked dark, but ended up being rich and more on the milky side (which i also love).
Shoutout to Jason for the excellent service. He made sure everyone had everything they needed and checked in on us while we waited for food and after we were served.
