They added meat to a dish I confirmed was vegetarian!
I asked the staff if Dry Pot Potato and Cauliflower is vegetarian only, or does it contain meat. They said it’s what it the menu says, and I specifically mentioned I’m vegetarian.
As soon as I start eating, I recognised shrimp, and wasn’t sure but what looked like meat (since I’ve not eaten those things, I had no idea what they tasted like). I took a couple of bites because the dish had a lot of broccoli and peeled potatoes. I also tried giving them the benefit of doubt that why would they add meat if I’ve double checked before.
It really became apparent that what I was eating was meat in between, and when confronted, the cook casually said he adds meat to the sauted veggies and the staff didn’t know about it. They probably did not take my order seriously. They didn’t charge me for the food, and behaviour-wise were nice folks, but this has left me with a bad experience. I’ve ordered the same dish in Blacksburg in a couple of restaurants and never had this happen.
The only reason I went to this resturant was because google said it was vegetarian friendly.

I’m very glad they are back in business and open most of the time of the week! Always come here when I’m homesick. If you wanna try authentic Chinese food, and have a Chinese friend to help you explain the menu, I’m sure you’ll find a dish that you wanna come back for often. (Most of the spicy dishes you can ask for no hot pepper

My father and I shared the dry fried green beans and tree fungus beef dishes. They were fast and the flavors are complex, layered, nicely heated without being too hot. The servings are generous! This feels authentic, a family run place – how lucky are we to have this option in little Blacksburg! Their non traditional menu is dazzling and I can’t wait to try more!
What a snazzy decor to complement a wonderful meal!

Wow!! This is the most authentic Chinese food I’ve had since visiting China a few years ago. I ordered for pick up the yuxiang pork, garlic bok choy, and braised eggplant. HOLY MOLY! Everything was amazing and it was so much food. If you love super spicy, get the yuxiang pork. I am from Louisiana and was not expecting this level of kick up here. I was crying and sweating for real. If you pick out the chili’s it takes it down a few notches though. So good!

Great waitstaff & food! Food came out quickly & each dish had a unique flavor. Loved the interior design, which was modern.

We’ve had Chinese food all over the world and feel LYC is fantastic. The menu is not hugely varied, but we’ve had most of it already and it is all terrific. The food and service here is authentic, so if that worries you, there are plenty of americanized versions you can go to instead. The prices look high, but the portions are very large.

Extremely overpriced for food quality and quantity. Ordered braised duck (very expensive) and received a plate of bones and sauce. Environment felt weird too.

Advertised vegetarian menu is misleading as they cannot make anything w/o fish sauce or oyster sauce
