I have been driving by this place for quite some time. On Saturday night we decided to stop in and check it out. Was a little nervous about the bouncers at the door but once we got inside it’s one of the most exciting and popping clubs in Federal Way. Music was amazing. The bartenders were super friendly and everybody inside was having a good time and dancing. This place is definitely a hidden gem, just sitting there on the side of highway 99. We did not try the food but we will definitely be back to try it. Amazing! Smells just kept wafting from the kitchen all night long.

Atmosphere is ok because the music is good and it has decent lighting. Food is often (3 visits) hard and dry & unfortunately my stew was cold upon receipt at the table on my last two attempts to try this place. Service is absolutely trash if it even exists. They also overcharge some customers so i recommend you ask for a receipt if you order food. They’d do better to hire professional servers, it would improve the reviews and overall service and experience.

First of all, there are no seats. You gotta reserve seats and no space to even dance. Most customers are seated just staring. Definitely kills the vibe. Also the security guards don’t use a wand but bare hands to frisk customers. A lot of unprofessional approach to hospitality. The food is also microwaved so if you get matumbo (tripe), get ready for food poisoning. They can do better. I don’t think this is the real feel of Kenya, but we appreciate the effort. The owners nes to put more effort in design.

I loved this place more when there was a young chubby guy…so upset that I forgot his name. He was so friendly with an amazing service. I remember, the first time I visited Lims, he greeted me and my friends like he already knew us. He found us a seat and got our orders without rushing us. He continued checking up on us all night making sure we was good. And that continued until a few weeks ago. If you reading this young man, thank you.
I do love Lims, the BIGGEST PROBLEM is the music. Am from Zambia, I always enjoy the first hour and half, maybe 2 hours… but it becomes about KENYANS.. We end up feeling lost. Maybe i don’t get it, is it specifically for KENYANS? Enlighten me.
My review is to help y’all improve, don’t rush to be on the defensive, just improve if you have to.
Weekend of October 10th, 2025.. I came in with Rachel Kundananji, one of the highest paid female soccer players in the world… we didn’t get a good service i guess because you was short staffed…but it was a Saturday y’all … I apologized on yours behalf, but finally, the only waitress I believe came to the rescue after a 30minutes or more wait. She apologized and finally took our order and she brought our drinks fast and apologized again. I like her.
All in all, I love Lims, please treat us non Kenyans good.
Oh, to every Kenyan reading this, stop speaking Swahili to everyone that walks into this club…lol. love y’all though

Lim Restaurant and Lounge in Federal Way has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite match the vibe. The food was pretty underwhelming—lacking the flavor and freshness I had hoped for. On top of that, the service felt detached, almost like the staff was just going through the motions rather than making guests feel welcome. It wasn’t a terrible visit, but it definitely didn’t leave me excited to come back anytime soon.

Good Kenyan food. Service can be a bit slow. Music is loud but there’s a separate “family” area where there’s no loud music.

I ordered liver and it was so dry…
Just plate of dry hard to eat liver. Nothing else. No salad or other side dish?!
The water I asked she brought at the end of the dining.. customer service woman was so slow like she is out of the world and hanging somewhere in sky..
The drink margarita I ordered was discussing, gross and they brought it too when we finished eating.
I didn’t say anything there out of respect to the guy who invited me there!
The music was so loud – you cannot hear your partner talking…
Cold and uncomfortable…
