Stopped here today with my girlfriend and Dad and the three of us were very satisfied. Nice outdoors area to the rear, warm and sheltered. Service was great from both ladies who served and helped us. No faults with the food, all was very good – We had Camembert starter , lobster ravioli , nonnas ragu , fillet steak , and both tiramisu options for dessert . The pistachio one was a delight, definitely worth a try if you’re not a coffee lover. Thank you very much, would certainly stop here again.

Interior is so cosy and stunning, both in the cafe area and the restaurant area. Has a very warm, jazzy and cosy vibe.

The food tastes next level, despite simple ingredients. You can tell each ingredient used is high quality making the food taste a cut above the rest.
I had the Bruschetta Pomodoro. Actually INCREDIBLE despite the simple ingredients list. It was somehow both perfectly toasted and soaked in the flavour of the olive oil and balsamic glaze without feeling too greasy.
The cafe latte was good, but I would say bould brothers coffee is better. But that’s just me nitpicking really.

The toilets are clean. One toilet available.

The service is a 10/10. Freya gave excellent recommendations, was friendly and helpful. Deserves a raise.

Surprisingly not busy during a lunchtime.
Friends have also recommended the lasagna, ravioli (has a small portions though), pumpkin gnocchi…you can’t really go wrong.

Will come again to try the rest of the menu 🙂

We got to try 6 different Central Italian wines (several were not the usual ones) via Cambridge Wine Merchants (Clive) – 2 white, a rosé & 3 reds alongside LOTS of cheese & bread from Limoncello itself set up by Esse.

There was a chance to have dessert (panettone tiramisu) but I was already stuffed!

The others on the table dived onto the cheese board before I could take a photo so I hope someone else did!

Garden area is alright. I was expecting an open garden. But coffee was not good. We ordered cappuccino. It was too hot, coffee lacked intensity. Not a good experience overall.

6 of us last night for a family dinner. Sat in the patio. It was just the perfect setting. Warm, beautifully lit, blankets – even though we didn’t need them. Staff were friendly and made sure they were on the button with everything. Maria, who served us, was wonderful, accommodating and super patient and friendly, and this is important to us as we had two family members with special needs, one of them is not visible. Pizza with the Scamorza and aubergine was delightful, as were the other starters. The lasagna was a hit at the table. It was amazing, filling, tasty and rustic.
We also had a lobster ravioli. The Ravioli itself was very nice, but the sauce was a little lacking in flavour and very thin for such a pasta dish.
I think the chef was aiming for a Bechamel, but it just didn’t come out that way. But you know what, it’s not a big deal, as everything else was so spot on, it didn’t matter.
Truffle and sausage fettuccini was also delightful, according to my son. The Nona’s ragu was generous and tasty, said my sister-in-law.
Our huge thanks to the chef, the service staff and all the others behind the scenes.

Had to give this five stars as it is probably my favourite food in Cambridge so far. It’s only limited by the fact that the restaurant is so tiny and the seats are a bit squashed as a consequence. Absolutely amazing fresh food and a romantic atmosphere (although very small and not super comfy). I would like to go back when it’s warm enough to sit outside. Not cheap but worth money.

This is our absolute favourite restaurant to eat when visiting Cambridge from Norwich. The service and attention is is excellent. The food, from starters mains and deserts are all absolutely delicious. The biggest shout out to the Pistachio and tiramasu cake, which is insanely good. Our 4th time visiting just to get some. Esse looked after us once again to a high standard , thank you once again. Highly recommend ❤️

The service was great and the staff were nice. The Ragu pasta was nice but the truffle on the bruschetta starter and in the truffle pasta was a bit too overpowering.

For dessert I tried both types of tiramisu but neither had any type of coffee notes at all, the sponge was a bit dry, and strangely I could taste orange in there classic tiramisu which shouldn’t have been there. They were still decent desserts but for the lack of coffee taste I wouldn’t call it a tiramisu. It was more of a cake.

The atmosphere and the restaurant was nice but it was cold when I went and first they placed us outside and then we sat by the window but there was still no avoiding the draft of the door and the heater next to us was insufficient at counteracting this.
