Limoncello is an authentic Italian deli and specialty market in downtown San Francisco. We serve made-to-order sandwiches on fresh-baked bread built with imported Italian meats, cheeses, and ingredients. Try our house favorites like the porchetta, classic Italian combo, and mozzarella caprese. Beyond the counter, we carry Italian wine, beer, olive oils, pasta, sauces, and hard-to-find specialty groceries imported directly from Italy. Stop in for a quick lunch, pick up a charcuterie spread, or stock your pantry with authentic Italian products you won’t find at a regular grocery store. Dine in, take out, or ask about catering for your next event.
Homemade Italian dishes and sandwiches offered in a straightforward delicatessen with outdoor seats.

Tucked in one of the streets near Van Ness is a more than 10 year establishment with a varied and well displayed set menu deli combining fresh and well choice cuts of meats. The adjoining store offers the visitors ample alternatives for gourmet and European products including the alcohol.
Sandwiches and pizzas are served in generous and well balanced portions. Desserts are also available at the goods section.
We were fortunate to share a few moments with the kind owner while waiting for our order. The service was quick and our takeaways were well packaged.
The interiors and displays are reminiscent of European delis. Bright, colorful, tasteful, and beautifully stocked. The elevated deli with a small counter provides a wonderful perched to wait or enjoy your meal. Al fresco tables also outside can be used during fair weather.
Much care and attention is evident in how much the establishment has been maintained which is a gem of a place ✨️ within its neighborhood
Ideal for quick bites, takeaways and very small groups or dates. All around the general store is also a great place to shop for supplies and provisions.
The shop is pretty cute. Has a nice Italian deli vibe to it. Cured meats and stuff hanging and all that good stuff.
I have to admit, the menu was a bit overwhelming, and some of the sandwiches seemed very similar in description. So, it was a bit of a challenge narrowing down what I wanted.
That said, the sandwiches I tried ended up being quite good. The best I’ve ever eaten? Probably not, but the best I’ve had in SF? Quite possibly, yes. One downside was that they don’t have sourdough bread as a sandwich roll option. Kind of a disappointment for a sandwich shop in the bay.
Still, I’d definitely go out of my way to have it again. Highly recommend.
We ordered the number 13, which is a delicious mortadella sandwich. The ingredients were fresh and the sandwich was super tasty.
The owners are incredibly kind and make you feel very welcome. This spot is also an Italian market with a wide variety of unique products.
It’s places like this that make me proud to live in San Francisco.
I got the caprese sandwich but made it spicy. The bread was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. All the ingredients tasted fresh, and the spice added a ton without overwhelming the classic caprese flavors.
Because it’s part grocery store, the drink selection is way better than your typical place. The staff was also super friendly, they even gave my dog some meat!
There’s minimaI seating here, but I can easily see myself coming back here often for a quick to go meal.
I had 2 hours to kill before my dinner so dived in for a quick bite here. The menu had good selection of s’wiches, Pastas (pre-made) and some Salad. I went for their no.17 (Grilled Chicken sandwich). Came out fairly quick and was good though I wish it had a bit more flavor to it.
It’s a good little mini-mart of Italian food products – perfect if you’re craving Italian & want to grab a quick meal.
So good, great set up, as I was ordering the owner, Chris introduced himself to me, asked me where I was from when I said I was from out of town and then told me to tell my sister hi and thank you for sending me.
Next time I’m in town, I’ll definitely be back!
Purchased a Siciliano Sandwich ( 15.95 ) and a 12 pack of mini cannolis ( 26.00 )
