Unique and eclectic menu. The service is top notch. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She took the time to explain different menu items to us and make recommendations and was very attentive. The food was of very high quality and the menu offers just enough to have something for everyone’s liking. I will definitely be back and highly recommend that you give it a try.

Discovered this amazing historical property and bistro while visiting Buffalo Trace Distillery. Great food, simple and fresh ingredients. Shout out to Lily, our fantastic server. Highly recommend their house old fashioned with marmalade syrup.

Destination worthy! One of the best restaurants in America! Any food lover will rave at the experience of new flavor combinations and profiles that will dazzle and delight. Every dish was so good. The tiny clouds of falafel were the best I’ve ever had aten. The cocktails were expertly balanced and delicious. The house is beautifully decorated and definitely made the experience even better. This restaurant and chef are James Beard award worthy!

Really cool location right on the river. This restaurant is in a converted house that is very nicely decorated. When I came with my sister, there was one lady who was handling waiting for all the tables as well as bringing food out as well as making drinks. Despite everything on her plate, she did a good job with Service and had a good attitude. I ordered the beef salad and the burger, both of which were delicious. Would definitely come back again.

My rating is actually 4.7 out of 5. Food is good and service is ok. Atmosphere is lovely. Would like to go back in the summer to sit on the patio overlooking the river, but otherwise not worth the drive from Lexington as it is equal in quality to many restaurants in the city. If you like Merrick Inn, Dudley’s, or Millstone in Lexington then you will like this place!

Best meal on the Bourbon Trail! We are locals and dine frequently in the central Kentucky area. Our meal at Limewater was one of the best meals we’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. The atmosphere is lovely and candlelit, the service was amazing (Emily was our server), and the drinks of course have to be fabulous. We had the Limewater cocktail and the Old Fashioned. We were both impressed! Our starters were the fritters and the beet salad-superb. Our mains were the cheeseburger and the halibut and both were the best version of each. We ended with the blondie and coffee and closed our tab with plans to return soon. It’s winter now, but we also look forward to frequent meals on the patio overlooking the Kentucky river once the weather warms up. Very excited to have found this spot so close to home.

I found this restaurant while searching for a spot for lunch while on the Bourbon Trail. Thanks Google. What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant. It really is a hidden gem. The restaurant is in an old 1815 home. Each room is beautifully decorated. The restaurant closes between lunch and dinner, and we were lucky enough that they allowed us in just before closing. We sat at the bar and Stephanie took great care of us. She was friendly and engaging. Of course, there were bourbon cocktails ordered. For lunch, we all ordered the BLTs. The bacon on that sandwich was insane. So good!
If I’m ever on the Bourbon Trail again, I would love to come back for dinner. I think that this restaurant is romantic and special.
