I’ve tried Chinese food in Petaluma before and I wasn’t impressed, but then I discovered this spot on Google Maps and was hyped up by the solid reviews. The reviews were RIGHT. This spot is a solid 5/5. We showed up around 6pm on a weekend night weeks ago, and immediately upon entering, we were warmly greeted by all the front of house staff who were attentive, quick and friendly.

We ordered the pot stickers, roast duck, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. We will 100% return!!

The dumplings were bigger than most places and stuffed with heaping amounts of the stuffing. They were juicy, filling, and fried to perfection.

OMG the roast duck was a 11/10!! Will probably end up ordering this every time we return to Petaluma, which we do frequently. SO flavorful, fatty, and the steamed bao balances the flavors and textures perfectly. If you like duck, this dish is a must!

The Mongolian beef was equally delicious, just a bit too many onions for my boyfriend’s preference, but we both loved it! Would also recommend this dish with steamed rice.

The honey walnut shrimp is a classic favorite of ours. I’d give this dish a 7.5/10. The flavors were there, but it wasn’t as crispy as I’ve had at other restaurants, and I would pass on the maraschino cherry garnish. Still delicious though and I would give this dish another try.

Overall, I highly recommend this spot, and will be returning the next time we visit Petaluma!

My husband and I LOVE this place. We drive all the way from Santa Rosa to eat here. Every dish we have tried has been amazing. From scallion pancakes, to Mongolian beef, to sweet and sour chicken and chow mein, it’s all been delicious! We also really enjoy their egg drop soup and corn chowder soup. Today we had their lunch special, which is a wonderful deal. Your meal comes with a protein, choice of rice, brown rice, or chow meaning, soup, and an egg roll. I highly recommend coming here. Don’t forget to order their tea!

Pictured is the Basil Chicken and Pineapple chicken. Super yummy

Amazing service! Delicious & authentic!. My kids ordered szechuan noodles, and they were flavorful! Appetizer Chicken fried rice so good !. The orange chicken was crispy and juicy at the same time. The seafood combination had Buckjoy broccoli shrimp barbecued pork chicken and noodles super yummy! Midnight snack was delicious last night!

This is the freshest best Chinese food around. Chicken dumplings hand made packed with lots of juicy chicken with a fantastic sauce. Everything from chicken curry to veggies, organic brown rice, this place is a stand out star. I usually order from here 2-3X per week. You will love it!

If you are looking for shitty wok…. You found it. This is the worst Chinese food you could possibly need. If that is what you want then it’s amazing. Service was abrupt like “okay hi, what you want?” Then literally dropping the food on the table. Pot stickers are killer and huge. There is nothing Schezuan about anything on their menu, just sweet and salty shitty wok style Chinese food…..the beer was cold.

We stopped at Lily Kai Chinese Cuisine in Petaluma for dinner after a long day at the Russian River Rodeo. The restaurant is tucked away in a small center just off Lakeville Highway, but inside it’s surprisingly spacious and comfortable. We were seated right away, and the staff was friendly and efficient throughout the meal.

For starters, we ordered the Crispy Spring Rolls, which are shown in the first photo. They came out hot and crisp, served with sweet and spicy sauces on the side. The rolls were light and not greasy, which is sometimes an issue at other places. Along with the appetizer, they brought out a pot of hot tea, which was actually very good—a nice touch that added to the experience.

For mains, we had the BBQ Pork Chow Mein, Mongolian Beef, and General’s Chicken, as you can see in the second photo. The portions were generous, and each dish was fresh and well-prepared. What stood out was that nothing was drowned in sauce—each dish had its own distinct flavor and you could actually taste the ingredients. The General’s Chicken had a good balance of sweet and savory, and the BBQ Pork Chow Mein came with plenty of tender pork and fresh noodles. The Mongolian Beef was loaded with vegetables and had a bit of a kick, but not overpowering.

Service was quick and our orders came out in good time. The dining area was clean, and everything seemed to be well-organized. There weren’t really any downsides on this visit—everything went smoothly. Lily Kai has been a local staple in Petaluma for years, and based on this experience, it’s easy to see why people keep coming back.

If you’re looking for solid Chinese food in the Petaluma area, this is a reliable choice with fresh ingredients, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Stopped by for lunch on my way to a doctor’s appointment. Was served very quickly by the very kind and welcoming staff. Food was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Lady was even kind enough to give me a complimentary soup to go.
Will definitely come back next time I’m in the area.
This place is a must try!!

Hit or miss. Sometimes the orange chicken is a perfect 5 stars. And sometimes it tastes old and stale…like as if it’s 5 day old leftovers. If that makes sense. I’ve eaten here a dozen times and I never know which one I’ll get.

Amazing food, no question there. But man. The good ends there. Super rude employees. Didn’t felt welcome at all. No manners at all. Almost seemed like we were bothering them the entire time we were there. Felt like “They were mad that we ate there” if that makes any sense. Wouldn’t come back here at all even if its the last chinese place around.
