Drove from VA. Beach for this, I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was a mature & interesting cozy spot for numerous age group. Service was great for party of 7. She did her thang, with the orders. Noone complained of their meals. WE took pictures of our meals. I tried the desserts too. I had food to take home and that Sweet Potato cornbread – the size was awesome. It went well with my Sunday meal. I will definitely come back for date night up there.. My tab was $57.00 w/tip, the pictures on the wall of who is Liilie Pearl & family was heartwarming.

2/16/26 – We came to have lunch. We booked an online reservation pretty much 10 mins prior to showing up. We were sat down right away when showing up for our 1pm reservations.
This place has 2 stories, with the upstairs seeming to have more/main seating. The bathrooms are also upstairs. We were given water right away when seated. We first ordered some mimosas that came out pretty quickly. When ordering our food they informed us they ran out of chicken, which was unfortunate. Someone in our party wanted to order the OG. Our table ended up ordering the Roasted Beet & Burrata (my order), Wild Game Burger, 2 Slab Bacon BLT & the Lillie Burger. It took over an hour for our food to come out. I don’t know if that is normal here but that seems a very long time considering what we ordered. I wouldn’t think it would take that long to cook. When the food did come out; I liked my salad but wish there was a little bit more dressing. I took it to go, and asked for a side of dressing. When I ate the rest of it with the extra dressing it was really good. The other people at our table said there food was okay. Didn’t seem anything too special with flavor just basic standard what you order is what you get. The place is nice and the atmosphere is cool. We were seated upstairs and the view was pretty looking out. I will say we were seated at a unique table where we looked out to everyone. That was also a bit interesting & felt awkward at times. With the long wait on food, items not being available, the food being pretty basic, and the amount you pay for it did not seem worth it to dine here. I hope if and when I were ever to come back it would be different experience.

✨ ️ Lillie Pearl felt like fate stepping in at exactly the right moment. After a not-so-great experience trying to seat our party of nine elsewhere, one call changed everything. Magnolia literally saved the day and had a table ready for us, no stress, no attitude…just kindness.

Located in a charming downtown area, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and instantly welcoming. Our waitress was incredibly patient and warm, which made such a difference for a large group.

As a gin girl, I went straight for the Steel Magnolia, and wow… dangerously good. The table sampled everything from fried chicken to short rib, but I chose the coffee-rubbed filet medallions, and they were slap-the-table delicious.

Minor heartbreak that they were out of the pimento mac & cheese, and I did notice the open kitchen could use stricter hairnet enforcement…but honestly, those were small blips in an otherwise wonderful experience.

Grateful, full, and happy we landed here. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you almost didn’t have.

First time visiting this restaurant. You have to find on street parking or a parking lot to pay at.It’s a really cute setup. There is an upstairs & downstairs seating area. Also patio seating for the nice weather. It’s still overall a small place. Our waiter was very kind young man Caleb. I would visit again.

“Y” (from Ethiopia) was our server. He did an excellent job. He recommended that we start out with the cheddar biscuits. They come w/some butter & jam. I was skeptical of the jam on a cheddar biscuit but I tried it. The biscuits went from really good to amazingly good. My husband got the Dad’s breakfast sandwich w/home fries & I got the fried chicken and French toast. It was all delish & we ate every bite. The atmosphere was nice & the tables weren’t crammed together. It’s the Christmas season & it’s decorated very tastefully. (Pun intended!) We’ll be back.

I tried this place while visiting Richmond. It wasn’t the restaurant that I originally had planned to go to, but I am glad it it were I ended up. The facility was nice and inviting and the staff was extremely welcoming. The brunch menu was very limited but very interesting and unique combinations. We had the fried chicken with french toast and the peach cobbler french toast. The portions seemed small at first glance, but were just right. The drinks were good also. I would definitely return here anytime that I return to the Richmond area.

The food was tasty although somewhat out of season completely. The crispy pork belly had nothing crispy about it and the creamed corn was chalky. The glaze was still delicious. Chicken was very good although only a chicken breast and not a half chicken. The short rib could have cooked much longer and collards lacked any flavor besides bitter. Service was very good. It was weird to see the table next to us get burgers but we saw them no where on our menu. We would go back if in The area.

We absolutely loved our visit to Lillie Pearl, with a beautiful interior and delicious food served hot and with a smile. The staff was courteous and on the ball, taking care of our party of 14. We fully enjoyed our visit and it was perfect for our annual Christmas celebration dinner.

You must try the cauliflower appetizer which is broiled crispy but not overcooked, and served with a perfect amount of beer sauce and pepitas. Try some of the cutely dubbed drinks, such as the Steel Magnolia which is divine but strong with its mixture of grapefruit juice and fresh rosemary. For dinner, I enjoyed the sea bass while my husband devoured the airline chicken. Many of our friends ordered and raved about the shrimp and grits.
You should stay for dessert (if you have room, b/c the portions are huge). The slices of carrot cake are also immense and the peach bread pudding is made to perfection.

Update: so lilli pearl moved to the new location a few blocks up on broad with a bigger two floor venue. Along with it prices of menu items. Still busy. My second visit in 6 weeks had a better experience with the same choices so probably closer to 4. Service can be slow during busy hours as before. As mentioned, prices are up across the board noticeably. A bit too much for me but maybe okay for others judging by the crowd.

***From late Jan

Food is not bad at 3.5 stars. The braised beef short ribs is the highlight worthy a thumb up (although a bit on the salty side) but shrimp grits and fries chicken are just average. Brussel sprouts not super crispy but the pork belly is a better alternative for appetizer. Staff friendly and location is good–one block to carpenter theatre so expect show attending crowd.
