We made reservations for 6pm on a Friday night. When we arrived, at 6, there were no tables open, which I can understand to a point. So we waited 10-15 minutes. Usually if you have a reservation a table is held for you. It is a very small restaurant so I understand seating is limited.
There were only two waitresses working the whole place so service was slow, the fried pickle appetizer took 20-30 minutes to come out. They were some of the best fried pickles I’ve ever had though. The Nashville hot chicken waffle fries with Mac and cheese was fine. The chicken was cut into such small pieces you have to really look for it.
The bacon rancher sandwich was fine as well. It was pretty light on ranch for a sandwich that has ranch in the name. The bacon was so overcooked that it turned into dust when you tried to bite/break it. It was that way on both sandwiches so it wasn’t just a one sandwich mistake. Again, the food took quite awhile to come out. We were here for 2-2.5 hours all said and done.
Would I come back? Sure. For fried pickles and something different than what I had the first time. I’ll also make reservations again on top of planning to be here for a long period of time. It’ll probably be awhile before we do come back though, plenty of other places to try first.

Delicious! The greens were on point!!! My kids had the famous Nashville hot waffles fries with the “Booey Special” and I had the meatloaf and greens OMG were they heavenly! totally hit craving I’ve been having for months!

Everything exceeded my hopes. Fish was fried to perfection. My partner got the Nashville chicken tenders with Mac n cheese. I kept off eating off their plate because it looked so good. Waiter was very joyful and helpful. Ill definitely be back.

Ok. This is a “Must Try” place in my book. Staff was welcoming and did a great job. Made suggestions and explained the menu. Food was incredible. I tried the Med Hot chicken and it was perfect. Could taste the spice, but not overwhelming. Sweet at the same time. Breading was to die for, super thin, super crispy. Waffle soaked up the syrup and drippings. Red beans and rice, good also. House dipping sauce, yep, on point. I am a little old school when it comes to prices, little higher than I’d like but in saying that, I will 100% go there again.

It was our first time here. I saw a review on Keenan Eats page and was excited to try. I was raised in the south and anytime I have a chance at good southern cooking I am down. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Smothered Pork Chop, served over a waffle with Parm Mashed Potatoes and Greens. The pork chop was fork tender and good. I wasn’t crazy about it with the waffle (you can choose bread, which I would do next time). The Potatoes were very good and the greens where some of the best I have ever had. Please don’t tell Mamaw! My daughter ordered the fried okra as a side and I was very impressed. We ordered Bread Pudding for dessert. The warm Bread Pudding is served with vanilla ice cream. I really enjoyed the Pudding, but would prefer it served without the ice cream or a warm sauce. My toddler grandson only wanted French fries and received a large bowl. They were so tasty, my daughter and I kept sneaking some for ourselves. The server was great. She was so pleasant, knowledgeable and always had a smile on her face. Although a couple of things were not served as I would have preferred, that is a personal choice more than a criticism. I believe the food here is very tasty and would recommend going and enjoying the food and the atmosphere.

Very calm and inviting atmosphere. Busy is good and while it can take a little to get things moving any wait at all will be worth it. We had the chicken strips on waffle with greens and okra along with the loaded Booey fries and cauliflower and everything hit so perfect! The seasoning on everything is perfect and the texture of that crunch!!! Staff are friendly and appreciative and made sure you know it. Don’t forget to get the Kentucky butter cake – the perfect blend of cornbread and cake…topping it with the berry compote is genius. Such a beautiful food experience.

The food was delicious. I got the Nashville Chicken and Waffles, the strawberry French toast was delicious as well. However, the service was very poor and slow. We waited an hour after being seated for a food to arrive and when it finally came out all of the food still wasn’t ready so we had to change one of our sides. Additionally, it seems the restaurant is understaffed or something because our waitress was everywhere but with us. During the hour we waited for our food, she never came back to give us refills, updates on the whereabouts of our food, or anything. It was busy in the restaurant so some waiting is definitely expected, but it clearly was ran very inefficiently.

I usually snap a couple pics but this time, my husband and I were too busy enjoying our afternoon date to Lila Mae’s. We ordered drinks and the Nashville Hot Chicken Cheesy Fries as a starter. The app was delicious and came out quickly, even before our drinks. Loved the crisp cook and seasoning on the waffle fries along with the hot chicken & mac n cheese. We were both craving fish, so got the catfish and whitefish plates. Greens were cooked well with the right amount of seasoning, extra tasty were the garlic mashed potatoes, and we were so impressed with the waffles (could have eaten a few of those and weren’t even expecting to have a waffle!) The catfish was fried to perfection, and originally I had ordered the fried okra and grits but accidentally got served more waffle fries. Our server was quick to fix the mistake and he seemed to be the only one working the dining room, making drinks, and bussing tables- he was pleasant and kind and communicated with us to let us know our food would be coming. The whitefish was not as good as the catfish, a little overcooked- but we will go back and try something different next time. This is a small restaurant, and the atmosphere was welcoming and neighborly.
