Visited with my husband for the first time on April 25th 2018. The restaurant was clean and had a light atmosphere. The waiter was attentive, and gave us a plenty of time to review the menu.
We ordered the Tom Yum soup and chicken satay to start, both were delicious, the chicken satay came with two different dipping sauces.
I had pad Thai, but it was too vinegary to eat. My husband had the drunken noodles and they were great!

The best Thai place around the area! Cute little place for Thai food! Extremely clean and modern looking with great atmosphere. Great for family and friends outings. Lots of room. The service was great!! The girl who worked there when we were there was extremely polite and informative. The food was great to with some of the best prices for Thai food you can find around this area and in Detroit. I got the pad ped and it might have been a little bit on the salty side, but I’m usually really sensitive to salt so it makes gut be the perfect amount for most other people. It’s better to come here than Penn Thai that’s close by because that place never opens on the hours it says it would open. Lil Thai is much more reliable.

Place is very nice and modern, staff is very nice also. I would highly recommend the Bangkok chicken #6, it’s amazing. Prices are set good for the portion you get.

Mediocre Thai food at best. Vegetable red curry tasted of dry chilli powder. Service was fast and friendly. The place was clean as were the eating utensils.

For a Thai food Maniac like me , this place was just average. Ordered fried rice which was good, pad cashew which really below average something weird about the taste and some of the cashews tasted old and oily. Then the curry noddle, which was good , with curry flavor. Good portion size for the price.

Best tasting Thai food around! My favorite is the Pad se-ew the perfect blend of sweet, salty and savory. Everything is cooked perfectly, the vegetables have a nice crunch and they use the perfect amount of sauce. When I ordered it with shrimp the shrimp were larger and more abundant than other places, they don’t skimp. The side of shrimp chips tastes fresh unlike other places. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. The service is fast and pleasant and the place is very clean and modern.

Service is fast, staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. We ordered the Pad Thai and the Pad See Ew. Prices are fair and the serving sizes are filling. Ambiance needs a little work , but the place is clean and parking was not an issue.
Lil Thai Express will always have a place in my heart because when we first move to Michigan from Seattle, this was the first restaurant we ate at. After our meal, we talked to the owners and they gave us the lay of the land. Where to check out houses, where to buy groceries, things to do, where to eat, etc. Prime example of a family owned restaurant.. They treat you like family and put care into the food that they serve. You can’t go wrong with Lil Thai Express.

What a disappointing experience. I came here as a group of four on a Friday around 6:30 PM. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and were greeted shortly after arriving. The soup we ordered before our meal took over 10 minutes, but was good, luke warm, but yummy. Here comes the most disappointing part.
Each of us ordered an entree. Our waitress wrote them all down at the same time. The chef they have on staff must only know how to cook one dish at a time because that’s how they came out. Half hour after ordering my father-in-law got his meal. About 8 minute later, my husband got his , 12 or so minutes later, my mother-in-law got hers, and 12 or so minutes after that I received mine. Our waitress didn’t seemed phased all by this bizarre way of serving…
I ordered the seafood combo and it looked amazing! Nice portion and rice was served neatly on the side. However, I only took 2 bites. My dish was SO SALTY it literally burned my taste buds. Wow, it was awful . When the waitress came around I kindly explained that due to the extreme amount of salt it was inedible. She apologized and offered to make me something else, but I declined, because I didn’t want to take a chance. What if the next dish was awful too? How long is it going to take? Is it going to be ready when the rest of my party is done? Sorry, but no thank you.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dish, however we were all very disappointed in the wait time and how the food was served one-by-one. Get that issue straightened out, and watch your salt, and this place could have potential. Unfortunately for me, I won’t be coming back.
