What a great surprise in a place that has so many! Dizzys was BY FAR the best gumbo I’ve ever had. I’ve had it everywhere in NOLA and this one is the best. The chicken was crispy and perfectly cooked and the atmosphere and staff just made it even better. Do not miss this place.

Visiting from DC today & I must say. Everything was beyond amazing. The gumbo was so rich and authentic, the fried chicken… listen the fried chicken was the real finger licking good, we had one side of everything AMAZING! Let’s talk about the staff… THE BEST! Friendly, welcoming & was willing to go above and beyond. I loved it. I’ll rate this place 56655 stars, but only allows 5.

Best food I’ve ever had in New Orleans! I’ve tried lots of fried chicken across the country but this is the best I’ve ever had. The gumbo mac and cheese and bread pudding are all fantastic.

Great experience. Can’t say enough about this place. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Everything was wonderful from the food to the service. I had the stuffed bell pepper, collard greens, corn bread, and side salad. Perfect. My date had fried chicken, not pictured, but she gave me a piece and I melted. Then there’s the pineapple lemonade. It’s small but delicious. The servers were so friendly we took pics with them. When I ever come back to New Orleans I’ll most certainly come here.

After eating in upscale restaurants in NOLA the past few days my sister and I were ready for foods more familiar to our palates. We looked for places close to the hotel and found a favorite neighborhood haunt – Li’l Dizzy’s Cafe. Again we would be heading there just as people were gathering for the community Beans Parade. There were lines but it would be worth the 45 minute wait. The food was fantastic and everything was well seasoned and hot on arrival. But, what made our visit memorable was the staff. I overheard one member say he had been there since 4:30 am. During this week we have heard many stories and little enthusiasm for the hordes of visitors that have invaded their city. The staff at Li’l Dizzy was upbeat and inviting to the last patron. They were incredibly fast and courteous and were the epitome of grace under pressure. Even the chef delivered orders and adjusted orders to keep the lines moving and customers satisfied. Well done one and all.

I’m in New Orleans for the first time celebrating my birthday and Lil Dizzy’s came highly recommended – I wasn’t disappointed. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious! I had to call my Aunt and tell her that she has competition for her famous potato salad . I can’t wait to come back!

First of all I’ll start with the best food I’ve had in my experience in New Orleans. I had gumbo in different locations and this was the best! So much flavor and packed into that gumbo. I also order the 2pc fried chicken with the Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was on point. The service was great and our food was brought out quickly. Don’t miss this hidden gem.

Home style cooking served in togo boxes. We arrived on a Friday & the special of the day was fried catfish joudin, covered in a shrimp & crab meat lemon butter sauce. Our sides included potato salad & mac & cheese. We also ordered gumbo soup, which was flavorful & salty from cooking a long time. Service was very attentive & hospitable. Everything was delicious! Worth the 25-min walk from the French Quarter

We got there at 11 am and by noon it was getting packed. We sat down to eat while a lot of people just took their orders to go. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and understanding. I had the sweet potatoes and shrimp poboy. It was actually delicious and tasted like home. Just get there early if you wanna avoid no parking and long lines.
