Lunch was not bad at all for a Taco Tuesday. I had a surgery coming in 2 days and the next day I had to be on a liquid diet. Lil Burro here I come lol. I had the chimichanga with shredded beef and their sausage gravy. It’s amazing.

I love Tex-Mex coming from San Antonio. My wife is from California, also loving Mexican food. These folks grow their own peppers out back. The food and service is extraordinary

Lunch date yesterday and this was the location I chose. We walked in and were seated shortly after entering, but you could tell the server was busy. From what we could see they were fairly busy around 1220 so understandable for the middle of the lunch rush. She brought our drinks and salsa a few minutes after we were seated. My hubby ordered chicken & steak fajitas while I chose the lunch Burrito supreme topped with queso instead of the original sauce. The salsa was bland but more tasteful once I added a little salt. The “spicy” queso was very good. He really enjoyed his fajitas, but I was in shock with my burrito. It was HUGE! I had enough for another full meal including beans/rice as well. Overall we were trying not to spend over $30 for lunch, but with a beer and our food it was $36 without the tip. I was surprised they didn’t offer a military discount, but leaving with 2 full meals for a little under $50 was better for the mind.

Such a great place that has been here ever since I can remember. Good is awesome and some of it is grown in a garden on the lot.

Family-owned and they are super nice and have great stories and table side manners.

I had the pork enchiladas and an aka carte chili relleno, fresh pepper from the garden and I inhaled it.

Will definitely be back when in the area.

Absolutely amazing food and friendly staff! If you live anywhere near here and have not gone, you need to. The Chipotle queso dip is a must right off the bat! It has no right being that good!! The tamales are home made and you can taste the love! The burger patties are also made in house, so good if you have a picky eater with you! From start to finish I cannot recommend Lil Burro enough. It’s always packed aside from in between meal times and its easy to see why! We went at about 2pm however i would 100% say it’s worth the wait, worth the trip.

Great food for the price point. Chili pablano was smothered in their green chili sauce, it’s one dish I’ll get at Mexican restaurants and compare. Theirs was simple yet delicious. For an appetizer we got the burro fries and they were well seasoned and great by themselves. My wife got them smothered and she said getting them without toppings were way better. Between the 3 margaritas, I’d prefer the traditional more. But the peach and strawberry were awesome as well, especially if you want something sweeter. For 4 entrees, one appetizer, a side tamale, one tea, and 6 margaritas our bill was around $125.

Cute lil restaurant…
Seems reminiscent of an old school dinner..
The food seems more tex-mex than Mexican, and as long as the food is good, that is fine..

Only complaint right now is that our table is sticky, not a big deal, but worth mentioning..

Table salsa and chips are good..

On the menu tonight.. (as always, opinions will be filled out behind the dish name).

For me….
Big red burrito with shredded beef. Touch of spice, excellent flavor, meat was tender.

Tamale… moist, delicious, lots of filling..

Shredded beef soft taco.. delicious, generous portion of meat, excellent flavor..

For my wife..(her opinions)
Fajitas beef/chicken… wife had me try as well..
Steak and chicken are dry, not a lot of flavor.

Shredded chicken soft taco.. lots of chicken, a touch dry, but flavor is good…

Wait staff is very friendly and helpful.

Ordered 2 lunch items to share.
Their chicken enchilada was very dry. Thankfully enchiladas have sauce so it made it ok, but it still needed more sauce or something.
Service was fine but they did not ask if we needed anything else or do a quality check in a timely manner. The restaurant was mostly empty. We had to flag the server down because we had a minor issue.
With my first visit I’m not itching to go back, but it was recommended to me and I didn’t order what they had recommended… So I will go back and give it another go at some point. This was close to a 3 star for my first visit, but I did eat it all so I gave it a 4.

Lots of parking
First bowl of chips and salsa is free. The menu says you need to pay for subsequent bowls.

We have been coming here for 15 years and it has only gotten better. We love supporting locally owned locations and this one we found while in military housing.

They grow their jalapenos for the poppers. The seafood sauce is amazing with the seafood quesadilla. The enchilada sauce tastes like a rich mole sauce. The pork green chili sauce is so savory and adds depth to whatever it is put on. We haven’t had anything bad here and will continue to support them for years to come.
