Family-owned and they are super nice and have great stories and table side manners.
I had the pork enchiladas and an aka carte chili relleno, fresh pepper from the garden and I inhaled it.
Will definitely be back when in the area.
Seems reminiscent of an old school dinner..
The food seems more tex-mex than Mexican, and as long as the food is good, that is fine..
Only complaint right now is that our table is sticky, not a big deal, but worth mentioning..
Table salsa and chips are good..
On the menu tonight.. (as always, opinions will be filled out behind the dish name).
For me….
Big red burrito with shredded beef. Touch of spice, excellent flavor, meat was tender.
Tamale… moist, delicious, lots of filling..
Shredded beef soft taco.. delicious, generous portion of meat, excellent flavor..
For my wife..(her opinions)
Fajitas beef/chicken… wife had me try as well..
Steak and chicken are dry, not a lot of flavor.
Shredded chicken soft taco.. lots of chicken, a touch dry, but flavor is good…
Wait staff is very friendly and helpful.
Their chicken enchilada was very dry. Thankfully enchiladas have sauce so it made it ok, but it still needed more sauce or something.
Service was fine but they did not ask if we needed anything else or do a quality check in a timely manner. The restaurant was mostly empty. We had to flag the server down because we had a minor issue.
With my first visit I’m not itching to go back, but it was recommended to me and I didn’t order what they had recommended… So I will go back and give it another go at some point. This was close to a 3 star for my first visit, but I did eat it all so I gave it a 4.
Lots of parking
First bowl of chips and salsa is free. The menu says you need to pay for subsequent bowls.
They grow their jalapenos for the poppers. The seafood sauce is amazing with the seafood quesadilla. The enchilada sauce tastes like a rich mole sauce. The pork green chili sauce is so savory and adds depth to whatever it is put on. We haven’t had anything bad here and will continue to support them for years to come.
