Very good! Staff is friendly, the sauces are excellent, and the food rivals the best of barbique. I got the pulled pork mash up, which comes as a large portion and a reasonable price. I think it’s going to quickly become a weekly spot for take-out.

Great and friendly staff. Wonderful place to have great BBQ. The food is outstanding. I love the brisket and the wife enjoyed the ribs. The brisket is super tender and WOW the best in Lansing. The ribs are tender and full of flavor. I highly recommend stopping by and give them a try. You will not regret it. The restaurant was very clean.
Update 1-31-18 – We went back for another visit. I have to say the food was even better this time! GREAT customer service and very friendly staff! They made us feel like home!

Lots of good food for the price! My teenage son – who can eat a lot – ordered the half rack with 2 sides for $12.95 and had enough for almost 2 meals! We all left full and happy.

This place needs a sixth star. The chicken falls off the bone as you eat it. I could easily make a meal of just the rice. The portions are huge, and will leave you well sated.

Delicious meats, very tender. Good sides too, but that’s not why you’d eat here. They do both takeout and eat-in. They have tables in the small dining room, I think total seats was 24. See the pics for their bbq sauces. I liked the mustard best. We’ll be going back.

If I could give this place more than five stars I would. Coming from the south where bbq is sacred, believe me when I tell you this is WITHOUT A DOUBT the best bbq I have ever had. I find it amazing that great food can be to be if you are willing to take chances and eat local. Thus place is island style , Haitian, bbq. I had half rack of ribs with delicious fluffy cornbread and island style red beans and rice with pepper gravy. I can’t wait to go back again and again

Absolutely amazing spare ribs. Liked a lot of the sides and sauces and everything else too, but the spare ribs were perfectly seasoned and I could eat 10 more.

Went here cause I’ve been craving brisket for months and I was not disappointed. The prices were great for the amount, all the sides are homemade (except the potato salad) and the sauces were made in house!! I loved mixing their spicy Carolina with their bourbon to make a sweet and spicy sauce for the brisket I ordered. I was surprised by how big the place was in the inside and while the lack of parking out front may deter some people, it was definitely worth going to!! I expect I will be a regular soon 🙂

That gentleman knows his spice balance. Oxtail stew is a delicious dish, but difficult to find. They had it as a special here at Lil’ BBQ Shack and they nailed it. Falling off the bone tender and a nice spice blend that caused me to shovel way more than planned into my gullet.
Tried the sliced brisket as well. My only complaint with it is it was almost too good of a cut. Leaner piece of brisket, light on the smoke, nice moisture retention. I tend to prefer heavier smoked fattier pieces, but that is just personal preference, and you can put all the jokes in there you like
Nice sauces, particularly liked the spicy BBQ and the Bourbon style.
Restaurant was clean, all the bottles wiped down and surfaces in kitchen looked good.
Biggest negative to the place is location. Parking here is not a large amount of fun, though there is parking in back.

Very friendly, very fast service, food was very tasty. Honestly, the best BBQ I’ve had in town. Brisket like it’s supposed to be done, not like the jerky posing as brisket. Ribs fell off the bone. Small hole in the wall, worth making the stop.
