I ordered spring rolls, a jasmine milk tea bubble tea and a spicy tan tan ramen added with kimchi and shitake mushrooms. First off, my ramen was not spicy, so I was already disappointed. Then, when I tried the broth, it was missing the umami flavor that ramens usually have, so it fell flat. The broth wasn’t bad it needed more levels of flavor to really make that sing. So everything in the bowl when eaten together was just flat. Edible but not satisfying. The spring rolls weren’t anything special, and the bubble tea was blah. I’ve had better, and I ended up not even finishing it. I think the menu here is great, but the seasoning of the items and flavor of the broth, which is essential for any ramen, fell flat. I wouldn’t return, but I hope they consider fixing the chaotic presentation that is inside to not confuse the customer but to make them feel welcomed.
All they offer is pretty much ramen, although they have some appetizers such as Fried Pork Gyoza, Spring rolls, or Fried Brussel Sprouts.
I ordered two different type of ramen:
-Angry Zuko Ramen ($11): spicy creamy pork broth, pork belly, noodles, sweet corn, black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, scallions, pickled ginger, marinated soft-boiled egg, and roasted seaweed.
– Spicy Seafood Ramen: ($13): spicy creamy pork broth, shrimp, mussels, squids, noodles, sweet corn, black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, scallions, sesame seeds, marinated soft-boiled egg, and roasted seaweed.
The creamy pork both was so tasty, but the Spicy Seafood Ramen in particular was my favorite!
This place does not have many seating available so I suggest you take it to go. Staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Give it a try!
Very unique and neat place – I’d like to try other restaurants in the future.
I ordered Classic Ramen which they claim is Tonkotsu Ramen – I make my own ramen from scratch, btw.
It was pretty tasty.
Noodles were bit too fat for Tonkotsu Ramen – as you know authentic Tonkotsu Ramen calls for very thin and straight noodles – but had nice body and perfectly cooked. Aji Tamago (seasoned soft boiled egg) also was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned but I was most impressed with their Chashu (pork belly). It was perfectly cooked! Nice and soft and juicy but not too soft that you can’t pick it up with your chopsticks! I’ve had so many ramen noodles where they have nice broth and noodles but Chashu is so tough that you can’t even bite it off.
I’d give them 5 stars if they can improve with the broth. Its little weak. It needs to be a lot thicker in flavor to match those rather thick noodles.
But I do recommend this place.
I’ve also had their gyoza before, fried or steamed they are delicious. Their Brussels are so delicious, fried and crispy with an awesome chili sauce. My boyfriend over the Spicy options, I can’t have them any more but when I could I also loved them. They are not shy about spice, so be brave and enjoy it!
For anime lovers The Zuko ramen and the Naruto ramen is awesome!
