The service has been one of the biggest issues. Staff members have repeatedly been unfriendly, speaking to guests with visible annoyance, raising their voices, and showing little to no hospitality. In a tourist setting, basic courtesy and professionalism should be the minimum, and that has simply not been the case.
The food experience has also been frustrating and felt misleading. For example, we ordered wings and asked how many came in a portion — we were told eight. When the dish arrived, there were only six. When we pointed it out, the explanation was that “sometimes they send six if they are bigger.” This was never communicated beforehand, and it felt dishonest. If portion sizes change, that should be clearly explained before ordering.
Another very uncomfortable situation happened when the restaurant was completely empty. Because it’s winter and there were no common areas available in the hotel to sit, we sat at a table to quietly play a board game. We were told we were not allowed to sit there and had to go outside — in freezing temperatures (around 39–41°F) and during a snowstorm. There was no flexibility, empathy, or basic human consideration.
Overall, the experience has been defined by poor attitude, lack of transparency, and a complete absence of warmth or customer care. This restaurant does not reflect the level of hospitality travelers expect, especially in a hotel environment.
I said the egg over easy, it seems nobody heard it!
On top of that, one night I wanted to grab a drink next to the fire area, with plenty seating available and they did not allow me to sit there! The lady made such a face “uhm, no!”
Useless customer service, will definitely take this up to management
Breakfast was excellence again; veggie omelet with eggs and country taters served by the fantastic Lauren!
Will be eating here again next trip 🙂
The only bright spot was the Bloody Mary. Even that had an issue, though. The server accidentally handed my drink to another guest, who I believe took a sip. Instead of making a new one, they just swapped out the straws.
Overall, I’d say save your money.
Breakfast: sunrise special with over medium eggs, bacon, English muffin, and potatoes O’Brien and then an eggs Benedict with normal potatoes
Dinner: both of us got the prime rib sandwich with a loaded baked potato and two drinks to go with it, a spiked apple cider and the spiked hot cocoa. The drinks were not skimpy at all!
We enjoyed both meals, breakfast is breakfast, but the sandwich was extremely tasty, especially the horseradish aioli on it.
Yes, it’s a little pricy, but everything here is. Part of a resort stay, it is what it is. The portions help make up for the price.
