It’s a cozy little dive bar looking place that has absolutely enormous burgers that are SO good! Plus their curly fries are amazing bonus they come with a pickle and a mint chocolate each time.
I got the Jingle Jam burger that was a special for Christmas time and it was packed with toppings and flavor.
I also had a Tom and Jerry drink for the first time. It was divine and so festive!
The staff were very nice and decently attentive (they were packed and understaffed, so I know they were managing the best they could).
Parking lot is too small/ nightmare to get in and out of. The bathrooms are super small, run down, and a bit grimey.

As parents to a 1 and 3 year old, going out an enjoying a fish fry looks much different than it used to. The staff could not have been more accommodating and welcoming to us. As our kids force us to be a little more maintenance than the usual crowd, the staff was more than up to the task. They even set up another foldable table with four chairs for us to be able to have low seating for a one year old that refuses to be tied into a seat. Then, without prompt, the staff brought some toy ducks over for the kids. Really, above and beyond and so appreciated. The food was so great(we both had the walleye) and our kids loved the hotdog and fries. What a great experience!!

Let me start by saying the place was medium high to full busy. We waited 10 minutes to submit our drink order so, we ordered our food at the same time. We were asked how we wanted our burgers cooked but they all came cooked the same, medium well. The presentation was splendid and for the price it was a good quantity. It took 33 minutes to recieve our food. So over all happy.
The atmosphere is utterly gross. Please LOOK UP! Everything is so dusty that it can drop into your food. The light fixtures, extension cords, beams and games are all fuzzy. The ceiling fan over the bar is completed encapsulated with dust. With it being so dusty it makes me question how clean the kitchen is. Sorry owners but, you need to shut down for a couple of days and clean.

We went at 1:30 pm and it was pretty busy but not packed. Atmosphere was clean and the employees were really upbeat.
What an amazing burger! My husband and I shared- they are huge! We also had the pickle chips which were really good. They had a variety of french fry options, we choose the Cajun and were not fans. Took a while to get the check but our drinks were always full.

Lived in Madison for 15 years and just found out about Licari’s today while i was searching online for a steak sandwich to get for take out, and boy was theirs great!!! Great appetizers, phenomenal burgers & sides! The portions are huge! Top notch bar food and exactly what i was looking for! Its my style dive bar and it looks like they have a beer garden for the warmer months. I will definitely be going back to hang out and have some drinks. Im a little bummed i havent been here sooner… i drive by it all the time and never knew such a gem existed!

UPDATE: Still love this place!!! Called on a snowy Thursday night around 9:15pm to see if they were still serving food (we’d just come from seeing the Harlem Globetrotters at the coliseum) and Adam said they’d keep the grill going for a bit. We cruised over and had a lovely late dinner with them, complete with cocktails. Service and food were both great–we love Licari’s and will definitely be back plenty of times in the coming months!!!

Their fish, burgers, cheese curds, and old fashioneds are particularly wonderful–tons of bacon on their burgers! Atmosphere is cozy, and they have a fantastic outdoor patio. They always give you a peppermint patty for dessert with your meal–nice touch!

Had lunch on a busy Friday afternoon. Staff were friendly and attentive. Found out it was family owned and everyone was working (hard) there. You could tell there were some friendly regulars which adds to a good feeling/atmosphere. Go there starving and leave with leftovers! Portions are HUGE, prices are very reasonable especially in this economy and the cheeseburger wirh fries was so good. Be careful because if you get bacon on it, there will be 100 strips of it!

I got the FAF Burger on sourdough & it was good. My husband got the steak sandwich and he liked it. The food was good but very simple, like just put a patty on a bun and not any sauces or a buttered, toasted bun and a white bun vs a brioche bun. It seems like more of a place to go to drink and hang with people then get a delicious meal.
The atmosphere was a local, bar vibe and the staff was nice.
I saw a review online that said this is a great family restaurant but I disagree. The whole place felt like a bar and was filled with people age 40+. It would be uncomfortable with kids.

Very good food at this neighborhood bar. We get there once or twice a year. I had the cod dinner and my wife had a chicken sandwich with a mountain of bacon on it. Only downside is the noise level once the place fills up. Good reason to get there early.
